Basically I have been suffering with Chronic Nausea for 5 years, I have had blood tests, stool tests, two endoscopies and seen two different Gastro experts privately, stomach scans, brain scans. I have tried alternative therapies, healers and spoken to experts about stress management (literally everything under the sun)! Plus the money I’ve spent on pills, potions and supplements. GPS can’t help and put me on anti nausea meds that don’t work, anti-depressants they also do not work. I feel this is linked to stress and anxiety but surely if I calm myself down the nausea should go? It doesn’t 🙄
I run my own business and have a young family, it’s like a battle everyday dealing with nausea, I just feel awful and not motivated and focussed, I was once upon a time driven and a hardworking man, I’m now a shadow of that person. This consumes me and my life, I have dark thoughts as I feel this will never go away!
I literally am at my wits end with this, it makes life a misery when at it’s worst and over 5 years of this it really gets me down.
Do you think this sounds like stress and anxiety are causing my nausea?

When I'm very anxious I often feel queasy, however when the anxiety passes so does the nausea.
I'm not a doctor, so I can't tell you what it is you might be dealing with, but I do know that sometimes you have to advocate for yourself with doctors in order to find answers. I had a family member who was dealing with chronic vertigo and nausea for months, until they finally were referred to a specialist who figured out it was a minor neurological problem that that were able to treat and recover from quickly.
It could be physical, it could be stress, it could be both. I have anxiety, and I also have a physical condition that causes/worsens anxiety. I would encourage you to continue following up with your doctor, but also try reducing stress as much as possible. Delegate some of your responsibilities, try a short daily meditation practice, and if you feel comfortable with it, speak to a therapist. Even if it turns out to be a physical problem, addressing the stress related to it could provide you some relief.
I'm sure you'll find answers and I hope you feel better soon.
I do try with the doctors but feel they have no idea what to suggest after seeing many specialists as well 😞 I have just booked in to have a course of acupuncture as I have read that can help.
I do get stressed and worked up so practicing daily relaxation, meditation and yoga is definitely worth a try, I just need to do it daily to calm everything down. Just fed up as it’s been 5 years.
Have you considered it may be digestive related? Maybe do so experiments with different diets...gluten free, dairy free, fodmap etc. could be helpful. Also, I have heard of disorders of the vagus nerve (sends nausea signals to the brain). I can’t really remember anything specific but you can do some research on it. Maybe a neurologist consult would be helpful. Wishing you well.
Trying a low fodmap diet and four weeks in, no change as yet but I am exploring the digestive route. Also yes I will research the vagus nerve, thank you
You’re welcome. I hope you come across something that is helpful. Also I was wondering if you had looked in to homeopathy? Ginger root, in particular , is supposed to be good for nausea. Keep going.
I have been through a similar problem. All the doctors and drugs only made me feel worse.
It was purely a coincidence that resolved my problem.
I've had an on-and-off sore throat from post-nasal drip for years. An ear-nose-and throat specialist recommended daily saline washes to help. A neti pot didn't work out for me, but I found a product called "Simply Saline Nasal Mist" from Arm & Hammer. I tip my head over the sink and irrigate one side at a time, and then gently blow my nose. Miracle of Miracles, my stomach trouble got better after just a few days of this! I don't know why doctors never suggest mucous dripping into your stomach as a cause of stomach trouble (especially where I live, everybody has sinus trouble), but it sure can be. Saline rinses -- along with drinking enough water -- definitely helps!
If you try this, make sure the solution you use says "Isotonic".
I'm in the US. I can pick it up at most supermarkets, drugstores, and discount stores.
The "where to buy" link is from Arm & Hammer. If you have trouble finding it, try that. Oh, I'm not much of an internet shopper myself, but Amazon has it too.
I do hope so. So I order the drug free version of Simply Saline Nasal Mist" from Arm & Hammer?
It’s actually ok as you can find lots of alternatives, sauces, recipes etc. As said not helping as yet 😞 Why are u considering as your nausea is under control?
