Postpartum Depression after a year?

Hello everyone. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in my early twenties and after a few years of medication changes, intensive outpatient and inpatient therapy, I have been very stable. I had my daughter at the end of 2018 and suffered from some severe prepartum anxiety and depression for the last 4 weeks I was pregnant. As soon as she was born, it completely resolved itself. Although now I'm starting to see a flair up again in the anxiety and insomnia. Does anyone have experience with this? It's been over a year since she was born, is this still considered postpartum depression? I currently am still taking my medications and seeing my therapist, but sometimes it's just nice to talk to others who know what you are going through.

Yes postpartum can last a long time, I had it bad for a year. Talk to your gynecologist, there are answers, you may need some hormones? Talk to someone who has knowledge, also go on line and find any help to get you thru this. I send you peace, good health, love and hugs.....Sprinkle 1......

PPD can last for over a year, yes. I had a severe case of it after my now 17 year old daughter was born, I’d say it lasted a good 2 1/2-3 years. It was compounded near the end by PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder) with which I suffered for many years.
