Anxiety and depression.

Hi all,

Wishing you all a good Christmas, & a better new year!

I have not shared about my anxiety B4, it's something new to me, so I thought I might mention it. I had severe traumatic amnesia. I have been remembering more & more recently, which has left me with severe depression, & now anxiety as well. It really took off just over a year ago, after extreme stress & injustice. I hope to be seeing an endocrinologist in January for suspected pituitary/hypothalmic disorder.

I have treatment resistant depression, which I have had all my life, ( so I can't take AD's any more) I have been cut off from GP, & have never been diagnosed as mentally ill by psyche, but I have had it confirmed by private counsellor that I have severe Cptsd.

I am wondering if tranquilisers might help, for the anxiety? - that is - if I can find a GP practice that would take me on. The counsellor doesn't think it's a good idea, but I am running short of £ & she is very expensive. I don't want to be left with no support - when the £ runs out. GP's in Jersey are around £50, but counsellors are around £100 each week! I have spent £2400 since July, & that's just for the counsellor. I was suicidal last Christmas, & have less than an OAP to live on, (partial widows pension).

Any ideas gratefully received.

Jenny.

Hey it's great to hear I cheer someone up! I'm usually seen as a wet blanket, & a pain in the butt...

It's funny U should mention EPO though, Iv'e been meaning to look into that, but as my memory is non existent & with so many distractions this past year I kept forgetting. I am going to order some tonight.

Thanks.

I had to stop taking 5HTP. I'm told that Big Pharma were pushing the idea that depression is caused by lack of serotonin, which had been discredited, so I was feeling bad on it - in the end. Also dopamine may be unbalanced, if only seratonin going in?

Anyway I was getting neurological probs at night, so am testing, by going without.

the problem with 5htp is it crosses the blood brain barrier so can mess your head up and yes block dopamine

Best way to get dopamine is apples, orange or orange juice and beans/ lentils

SSRI AD s are all serotonin based that are prescribed willy nilly one fits all even though they never check.if the patient has low serotonin

Dopamine gives you a can do attitude and boosts your confidence the opposite of serotonin no wonder they want everyone on SSRI s

No, not really.

The hospital accident & emergency is free, but GP's & dentists are a private business. Hospital overnight stays are deadly. It's very 3rd world here health wise, hence the high anxiety of the poor! They will be doing away with the hospital soon, except for acute care, as they claim that staff won't come & work here, also, as the poor can't afford GP's ( who only prescribe AD's) - whatever the ailment, never investigate or refer, -ill people were heading for A & E!

but they can't find a site for the new hospital, which they insist is needed, so there will be "care in the community" instead, in other words high priced GP's....
