I’m so nervous. I have several things to finish up for school by tomorrow night at midnight. And I’m also nervous about my appointment with my counselor tomorrow and the appt with the doctor about putting me on a vitamin or an antidepressant or both. I need help with my depression and anxiety and I need more time to get this school work done but it must be turned in by that time. This is going to be a long sleepless night.

Hi there, I completely understand how difficult it is to cope with school work when suffering with mental illness. Arrange to speak with your teachers or head teacher about getting an extension to your work. Most schools are very sympathetic towards students with these issues. Hope this helps 😊

Our teachers were very adamant about having our work done by this deadline. I’m not sure that an extension will be given. It’s been a real struggle trying to get everything done and it still isn’t done. Thank you for replying!

I’m on the same boat. I have missed two due dates for major assignments and now have fallen behind. It’s for my math class and the assignments are very overwhelming for me and don’t even know where to begin. I like to be in communication with my professors so that they know what is going on and I’m not just being lazy. I’ll probably have to retake my math class which is worsening my anxiety and depression. I try to change my thought pattern into “one assignment closer to my degree” that helps me get through difficult times.

You got this!

Thank you! I have three major assignments and I’m close to getting one of them done. I’m hoping the other two will go much faster than this one has. They are stressing me out but I’m trying to remind myself that once I get this one done and one of the others done that I can go to bed and then once I get all of them done I will be on Christmas break, and I can just rest.

Most definitely enjoy your Christmas break. Hopefully the next two assignments will go by faster for you. When it’s time to go to bed, just say to yourself “ I did the best you could” If you have to submit it a day or two late, so be it. A few points knocked off possibly but never worth having anxiety to the point you’re uncomfortable.

One assignment is for English which is what I’m working on now, another assignment is for social studies, and the third assignment is for a teaching Special education class. I’m an Education major. These assignments are long and tedious.

One assignment at a time! I think English takes the most time. Hopefully Social Studies and Special Education will be easier. I to am going to school to work with special needs kiddos. I’m studying Behavioral Health with a goal of becoming a BCBA

Hi I empathise as I had to pull more than 1 all nighter when I was at Uni many years ago. Get your working space nice and warm and the coffee on the go. I worked better at night coz it was quiet and peaceful and there were less distractions.

When doing a long assignment I was always taught to start with a big bubble containing the essentials with small bubbles leading away from it. Also concentrate on the introduction and summary at the end as often the markers don't have a lot of time and will skim the rest of it.

Good luck. x

It's good to hear you Dr is looking at vitamins! Magnesium is great to calm anxiety and help you sleep well. B Complex is great for good energy and focus too. Taking them regularly or a good multivitamin with them in abundance will help you in everything you do. Best to you, you got this!

My doctor ended up not doing bloodwork yet like I thought she was going to, so no vitamins as of right now, but she put me on Buspirone and sertiline. (Bloodwork makes me extremely nervous) I tried b complex before but it made me too energetic (couldn’t accomplish anything especially school work because I couldn’t sit down for very long) and it made me hungry, and that’s not good when you’re already overweight. I’m now done with my school work, and I’m on winter break. I’m so happy!
