Anyone have experience with this? I tried to titrate down in order to try Lexapro (I was on Effexor 300 and still depressed) but my depression worsened and my anxiety skyrocketed. I don’t know if it was the Effexor withdrawal or the Lexapro. Only tried for 2 weeks on Lexapro 10 mg and had to go back to Effexor. Help!

Effexor is the most difficult antidepressant to discontinue. It has terrible withdrawal symptoms. If you want to discontinue Effexor, you must do it SLOWLY under a doctor's supervision. You didn't indicate how long you were on Effexor, but the longer you've taken it, the more difficult it is to discontinue.
I have gotten off Effexor. But it took me like two months with a continual taper. I was on a pretty low dose to start with though.
