Social anxiety tips
When you say "better with people", do you mean you have trouble starting a conversation?
Ok, I read your other posts. Two things I have read and heard about over the years should work:
1. Be curious. Ask a sincere question regarding the other person. It should be a question where you really want to know the answer, or it will come off as phony.
2. Pay a number of SINCERE compliments to others each day. Again, really mean it, so it looks like you truly admire some quality of the other person.
If the other person(s) brush you off, just move on to someone else. There's a world full of people.
It is in my nature to make small talk with everyone ! Like jkl5500 said ! Be sincere !
I am very open about my self to other people so this allowed other people to do the same !
Forget the “ how are you “ question ! Start the conversation with something else
Here is an example : I was at the grocery store late at night during a very cold day ! As the cashier is going through my groceries , I asked her how was to work so close to the door with the cold wind coming in every couple seconds.
Small but sincere talk !

That’s so great of you to take up a challenge to improve your relationship with people. One thing that comes to mind is starting a conversation with people. If its friends you haven’t talked to for a while, send a text or email to say you are just saying hello and checking on them. Complimenting people you encounter during your days activities is also great as you suggested. You can also commend or praise people for what they do (like work, cooking or service.) The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. There is no one giant step that does it, but it’s a lot of little once and that is exactly what you are doing now. Every little step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation. Am cheering you on.
What about wearing a band on your wrist that has a good quote like "I am A Good Communicator". When you feel a little anxious look down at it to remind yourself of the confidence you have in yourself.
