Hello everyone. Wish everyone on here is having a blessed morning. I’ve been struggling the last few days, I guess cause I have a bit on my mind. I have my social security hearing next week, and I guess sitting in front of a judge when one has ocd, anxiety , and depression can be a bit overwhelming. I’ve been very blessed to have been retired with my disability pension from my employer. They retired me at 52 years of age with full medical, which is unheard of. To receive full medical at retirement you have to be at least 60 years old. And I also did get my LTD settlement from my lawyer.. So yes I do know that Iam truly blessed to have been able to pay my bills. On the other hand waiting to see a disability judge, with all the paperwork involved can be overwhelming. I do see my psychotherapist twice a week and I see an APN every other week for my meds. The meds are Trintillex, Pristiq, Rexulti, and Xanax. I also see a hormone Dr every other week for low T. I do struggle with OCD symptoms everyday and my Dr thinks I’m medication resistant. Anyways I come in here to vent, I love this forum. My faith has definitely helped me through everything. Blessings to all. Samson

OCD and anxiety
Hi Strongest,I'm sorry to hear you're having anxiety and about the hearing anticipation. Sorry also that you seem to be treatment resistant to meds for your problems. That's really rough, I have a son who's the same, but just remembering my pain during the difficult times tells me how you must suffer.
How blessed indeed you are to have that full medical!! I pay almost $6000/yr. just for my Medicare supplement. Supplement, not Medicare or dental or visual, the last 2 of which I and my son have no coverage.
What are the things that you do for anxiety that are most effective? For me controlled breathing and distraction through keeping busy with other things helps tremendously.
Take care, and I'll include you in my prayers.
Hugs, Love, and Blessings...
Thank you so much. I’ve always been a weightlifter-bodybuilder, even though I’m not into it as much as I used to be. I do find that after I train with weights I do feel a bit better. I do try and meditate everyday. I’ve started going for walks and that seems to help. I have a little girl just 7 years old and when I’m with her she keeps me so busy, I do feel better. I miss her so much when I don’t see her. Samson
Strongest remember that since you are going in front of the judge for disability related to your mental health issues (I assume at least since you didn't say otherwise??) it's perfectly OK to BE anxious and show those symptoms in front of the judge! That will help prove your case I know how hard it is not to be anxious and then the OCD and depression seem worse but try to hang in there....
As to being med resistant - has your doctor ever talked to you about the Genesight test? (genesight.com)? It can really help to find meds that will work based on your DNA/metabolism/etc. It may be that dosages just need tweaking or even a different med itself but the test can tell a LOT that will be helpful. If your doc hasn't mentioned it or you've been reticent about it you might want to talk to the doc about it - I've seen lots of people helped through the testing. I know too that if your insurance won't cover it the company will lower/cover the cost.
No matter what - continue to count your blessings!
