You can’t cure anxiety but I think I know what you meant anyway (: I would start by watching educating YouTube videos on both ocd and anxiety, Dr Harry Barry is a good one he’s amazing.

By learning about them and studying them it can put you in the right direction.

You've taken a large step in the direction of healing by reaching out here for help and honestly describing how you feel, breaking free from isolation and the pain of quietly suffering alone.

Please know that anxiety and what you believe may be obsessive compulsive disorder (ocd) are biologically based brain disorders with psychological implications.

Treatment may require both medication and psychotherapy in order to treat and manage symptoms.

A next step might might be to schedule an appointment with a primary care doctor, certified nurse practitioner, or physician's assistant to discuss your physical and behavioral health concerns.

Participating in self-help support groups with peer-to-peer members reaching out to and supporting one another is invaluable.

But real healing and serious symptom management require the intervention and support of qualified healthcare professionals with the knowledge, training, and expertise to diagnose and comprehensively treat anxiety and obsessive compulsive disorder.

Best wishes & please keep us updated about your ongoing progress. Your health and wellbeing matter!

Have you tried the free NHS CBT course? You can self-refer through your GP surgery website. I am using it in conjunction with the Headspace app and finding it really helps. My anxiety has been appalling for the last six months but I am now learning new techniques and things are a little better, though I think I have a long way to go. There are also some great meditations on YouTube which help too.

Go to your GP website or ring them up and ask about it.

I wish you well.

Do you see a doctor? I strongly suggest a discussion about the medication Anafranil which is a medication for OCD. This along with some Cognitive Behavioral Therapy may help. A Therapist who specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT in combination with medication for OCD may help.

Good luck 🌈❤️🌻

No I don’t at the moment, I’ve only told a few of my friends because I don’t think anyone would understand. Have you tried the medication and would you say it works well?

only a few people know about my issues too. I'm come from an old fashioned family. I did take Anafranil and it did help. I took it with an anti-anxiety med Klonopin. That with therapy helped.

OCD is part of anxiety. My OCD symptoms have gone away but my panic attacks and major depressive episodes got worse so I found a new Therapist since my last one retired and my panic attacks have improved. I was started on Lexapro which made me worse. I take Cymbalta now as of just a few days ago. It worked for me in the past and it's the only thing that has worked. So fingers crossed. But yes Anafranil did work when I had awful OCD issues.

Good luck 🤗🌈💪🙏
