Just started lexapro just wantef to know if anyone is on it for anxiety and if it helps.

Clue, for me, it's been an excellent drug. It was given to me when I got off Benzos.

Lexapro has properties that seem to take care of my anxiety. I feel clear headed and not tired. I can only wish you the same. Good Luck in taking a step forward. xx

How long was u on Benzos ? Am trying to get on antidepressants to help with anxiety and depression I see my psychiatrist Thursday keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏾

Tamka, I was on benzos for over 30 years. Got left on them on a small dose.

The doctors today, usually don't use a benzo except for very short term events in life, one to two weeks the most and only on occasion.

Back 30 years ago, benzos were the answer to every anxiety disorder. And that was on a daily basis, multiple times a day. The doctors really believed at that time it wouldn't hurt you. The thing was that for me, I never learned to help myself go forward in learning other methods and ways of overcoming anxiety. I would just pop a pill when anxiety hit. Now a days, SSRIs are used more to address both anxiety and depression. Takes a little longer to work but in the long run it is a safer drug. Hope your appointment goes well and you get some thing to take. Medication is necessary at times and that's okay. We need that break, we need time to use therapy along with meds in helping us get down to the root of the issue causing our emotional problems. It will all work out for you Tamka. x

Awwww thank u am praying my psychiatrist find something that work because if not am going to get admitted into the hospital because am tired of doing it by myself is depressing and today I don’t want to live

I’ve been on and off lexapro for anxiety a few times, great medication. Give it some time though. Sexual side effects though, but hey it’s give and take.
