Anyone taking it ? What time do you take it? I feel like it makes me super drowsy but then I wake up at night. Wondering what the best time is to take it.

I take it before I go to bed. No real reason other than I take it at the same time as klonopin which I use for sleep.

What’s the klonopin like

It is a mild but long lasting benzo. It just helps me sleep. If I took it during the day it would make me too drowsy although people take it during the day for anxiety.

I take Lexapro I try and take it the same times each day. I take it at bedtime because it can make me sleepy if I’m not doing anything, but I take klopion for sleep at night and anxiety during the day.

Is the klonopin helpful

I take Lexapro every morning with my coffee. No noticeable drowsiness.

I take lexapro 20mg at dinnertime. It doesn't make me drowsy at all, but maybe your taking a higher dose than me. Check with your doctor see what he says. I feel better on it though my thoughts don't race as much as before.

Yea when I was taking it before I noticed I didn’t ruminate as much and I could just let thoughts go rather than become fixated on thinking about it

Suzzze - I take part in the morning and part at night but I am always tired and drowsy. I do not drink coffee in the am as it makes me more anxious. I think you just have to try what works for you. I do know when I take at night( once I arrive home from work) it has a calming effect.

Yea I’m trying to give up coffee bc it doesn’t help. But man is it hard to give up my morning Cuban coffee ☕️

I was taking 20 mg at night and 10 mg in the morning. I didn’t notice any drowsiness but I did take my bigger dose right before bed.

How’s it worked out for you? Has it helped?

It worked well until I got depressed in the Fall. Before I had been taking it for my social anxiety. Then my psychiatrist switched me to Cymbalta, Klonopin, and Rexulti. I had been taking Lexapro for around 10 years and it worked well. When I got depressed I guess my doctor just wanted to try something different. I hope it works well for you too!

I just bumped up from 10 to 20 mg of Lexapro to manage waves of anxiety. I was told to take to with or shortly after breakfast. It hasn’t cured my anxiety completely, but it’s under control. It takes a few weeks to adjust to this med so I was told to be patient.

suzzze, I was started on Lexapro while in the hospital 5 years ago.

Was told to always take it with food. It was given to me at lunchtime

and I have never had a problem with drowsiness. It is one of the best

meds I have been on. I am currently on 20mg. Wish you well xx

Ty! Same to you!

Want to report that after 2 weeks on my bumped-up-to 20 mg Lexapro, that it’s working great! My quality of life has improved dramatically!

Yea I feel like it’s been helpful to me too. Thoughts are more passing than persistent ruminations

This is really good to hear. I’m currently contemplating upping my dose. My doc thinks it’s a good idea but I’m scared to mess with it. It’s not really working but it’s kind of working and kind of is better than not at all. Sigh.

Definitely, give it some time I’m sure you will see it’s benefits

Whatever works! Anxiety is a disease just like any other. It needs to be treated not endured. Life is too short to be spent in misery.

I take mine before bed, but for no real reason other than routine. I don’t find that it makes me sleepy.

Does anybody ever drink alcohol while on Escitalipram? I really enjoy an occasional glass of wine so I do. And I do mean occasional - not daily. Haven’t noticed any adverse reactions ... yet!
