Feeling down today

I’m new on here. I’m just feeling really sad today. No specific reason, but it’s been occurring often. I have been on an antidepressant for 6 years, it has helped immensely. However, some days I just feel sad and very anxious. I have a therapist but it’s so expensive. TIA for any replies and/or advice

Hi mla62289 and Welcome Sadness happens as just a part of life. We all have our highs and lows. However when suffering from mental illness, those lows can become more frequent. Sometimes the medication we are on may no longer be doing it's job fully. Another reason is we get set in a pattern of the same negative thinking not allowing for some positive thoughts to be addressed.

Yes, therapy is expensive but sometimes we need that direction to see if it's worth a different path to take to lower the depressed or anxious mood. Trying to figure it out ourselves is not always the way to go. I'm glad you found this site and hope you will use it as often as you need. Reading the way others handle their depression and anxiety can open up some positive thoughts for you. :) xx

I should have read your response first. I pretty much said the same things. I love how we all think alike ☺️

for me it helps to start moving, do something physical. to play some music and even clean my house. do you sometimes try that? or take a walk outside also with headphones with music which you like.

I’m sorry you’re feeling this way. You’ll find a lot of people relate on here and you won’t feel so alone. Distract your mind with things you like to do. Maybe you need to change meds. Unfortunately after being on them for years, they can run their course (you can become immune to them). I took a break from Zoloft because of that reason and now I’m back on it and it’s helping again. I also write how I’m feeling everyday. It’s a nice release. Therapy is expensive you are so right but your health comes first. If you have to spend the money on therapy instead of other things, then definitely do that! It’s so important. Keep sharing on here and I’ll be praying for you 🙏🏼☺️

That's pretty normal with this disease.....antidepressants for me only level the intensity of mood swings...I still have them, I still have blue days....but it's not as horrible as it used to be.

Hello, we all go through this in life, pray give it to God 🙌🏾 And let's enjoy this long weekend 🙏🏾🙏🏾
