Is anyone else in this group having pain medications cut down because of the FDA. First they told me to get off a low dose of valium which I take 2.5 mg 2 times a day. Now the pharmacist told me I was taking to much pain meds. My anxiety and pain has gone up to a 8 a day. Please let me know if this is happening to anyone else. I canโ€™t even think about it anymore. Thanks for all your help. Bless all of you ๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•๐Ÿ’•

Are you taking opioids? Because there is a national epidemic of opioid misuse and addiction and I think the medical community as well as activists and politicians are trying to help the problem. Other than that I don't know why they would take away pain meds.

From what I have learned about pain meds is they are only good for short term use, after that you can set yourself up for addiction. However valium is not a pain med, so I'm a little confused? I wish for you joy!! XXX

I see a psychiatrist for anxiety and depression. The valium was for my anxiety and panic attacks. I also see a

Pain management doctor for dds. Thanks for your reply๐Ÿ’•

If you are in the US, these are controlled substances in many states. That means there is a limit to how many you can take over a given period of time. This generally applies to both opioids and tranquilizers. Even if your doctor prescribes them, the druggist will not be allowed to fill them. If you are taking 8 opioids a day, that does sound like quite a bit. You might consider talking to a psychiatrist and possibly physical therapy for the pain.

I have been on the same narcotic dosage for 14 years and I help my body NOT get use to it by varying the dosage or even not taking it sometimes. You can cut them up and take as needed to stay ahead of the pain You body will become accustomed and demand that dosage and depression makes the pain worse. Eating well, exercising (as you able) and sleep make a big difference. Blending SSRI's and pain meds is walking a sharp edge for creating brain fog. I am unable to stand long or even walk for more than a few minutes so I am always adapting and adopting to overcome the day. Don't give up the ship!

I do the same with my pain medication. I am just afraid that my doctor will cut my meds way down and then I wonโ€™t be able to under take them like I do now. I have been on the same one too for 10 years now. Thanks for your reply ๐Ÿ’•
