Struggling :(

I'm having a really hard time controlling my anxiety attacks tonight :( Mainly its the shortness of breath right now and tightness in my chest. I have done my breathing exercises and all of that and the feeling still will not go away and I am so tired. I know that I will not be able to sleep as long as I am feeling this way. Does anyone have any tips or advice that they can give me to help me calm down and go to sleep? I did the breathing exercise (breathe in for 4 sec, hold for 4, then exhale 4 seconds) but that isn't helping tonight. Please and thank you! ❤

Avoid smoking, alcohol, and caffeine

Practice relaxation techniques. When practiced regularly, activities such as yoga, meditation,

and progressive muscle relaxation strengthen the body’s relaxation response

Exercise regularly. Exercise is a natural anxiety reliever

Learn how to control your breathing

Insufficient or poor quality sleep can make anxiety worse

thank you for your response. I don't smoke, drink, or drink anything with caffeine in it. I stay away from all of that and at times it feels like any of that works. Thank you for advice! I really appreciate it.

Hi! I have it usually around the clock but it’s usually lesser at night recently but I am familiar with late night anxiety and being completely exhausted. I’d suggest doing something that you don’t normally do that will tire your eyes. Writing what you’re feeling down, how you think it will affect you and why you think it came. Write what you’re scared of and what power it has and it doesn’t have. Another thing I like to do is get some grounding in. It starts at the feet. Focus on your feet and move them. Exercise each toe. A lot of the time it will redirect your mind and lessen the symptoms. One more thing that helps me is a cold compress or even a cold room. A fan, air conditioning or ice pack behind my neck or on my cheeks. Best of luck ❤️❤️❤️ also! Talking helps - so here or even try calling a hotline. I’ve called the suicide hotline many times even though I’m not suicidal. They’ve helped talk me through rough anxiety/panic attacks before, sometimes you just need to hear a voice that all will be okay.

I usually have anxiety attacks all throughout the day and nights are usually okay for me too but last night was awful and I finally went to sleep but as soon as I woke up this morning it started again and has been bad ever since. I feel like I can't breathe and can't take a deep breath. Worst feeling ever :( Thank you for the advice ❤❤

What is your before bed routine? If I watch or read something that causes me to overthink, my sleep is terrible. I listen to genre of music called music to study by. It tends to be classical music. It works as a lullaby. Hope this helps. 🙏🏾

Thank you very much for responding. I usually watch a few episodes of my show, then pack my husbands' lunch for work, wash bottles then go up to bed but I couldn't concentrate on doing any of it because of how bad it was and it continued the second I opened my eyes this morning. I just want relief :(

How are you today? Are you on medication for anxiety?

How old is your baby? Do you think you are experiencing post birth depression?

I take 150 mg maybe you need an increase? or just give it more time, mine took 6 months to fully work and to get at a certain level and everything ended up working fine. speak to your doctor.

Try taking a nice warm bath to calm you down with epsom salt and some essential oils such as lavender or light some candles or try doing some mindfulness, IT ACTUALLY WORKS, go on youtube and search mindfulness or you could get the app headspace, I know someone who's anxiety was cured because of this app! Hang in there, things will get better soon. Remember anxiety attacks don't last long even though it seems that way they do not last longer than 15-25 minutes. Once you get past this rough patch you will feel so relieved. This was my last stage of anxiety and I hope it is yours too! Best of luck.

I will definitely try that! Thank you so much. I have shortness of breath all day every day. some kind of consistent anxiety symptom that doesn't seem to wanna go away so I'm at a loss on what to do at this point

I know the feeling of that, i remember having that but try not to focus so much on it. easier said than done, right? I think you are so focused on it going away and you can't stop thinking about it thats why its staying. Worries are like tomatoes, but you can't eat them, you can make them grow by paying attention to them. you have the power to make those worries go away by not giving it attention then soon the tomatoes will go away aka the worries!
