Fed up - Easter blues

I hate Easter , i feel as though i have to put on a happy persona and be surrounded by family and friends (not that I have many). If I don't then I'm looked at as miserable and get "it's Easter can you not just be happy for one day". Like sorry my depression and anxiety don't give two hoots what day it is. So frustrating, igronant people actually think it's a choice, that I can choose when to feel like This. No I don't get that choice and I wish that I did so I could actually enjoy things. In fact my anxiety and depression is so much worse during Easter and Christmas time. The immense pressure to seem Happy, being alone even when around people, having to find excuses if I am actually invited somewhere, seeing people so happy around you and wondering why thats not you. Sorry for the rant! Can anyone else relate to This?

You're right - depression doesn't know what day it is. It's almost like everybody's "rubbing it in" by being happy and cheerful. Then you're depressed because you're depressed!

All you can do is your best at the time. I hope you're getting treatment for your condition.
