Hi everybody, I just wanted to introduce myself so I am new to this. My name is Angela, I am 21 years old and have been diagnosed with depression and anxiety for a little over two years now and was recently upped to 60 ml for Paxal. I see a therapist every other week and although it helps, the extra help from you all would be greatly appreciated. I have been feeling down a lot lately due to stress from work, my family MAINLY and constant thoughts and fears about how I am ruining my life since I have so many goals in life (ex.career) but due to my illnesses I haven't been able to get myself to finish school and it really brings me down.

I'm new here so here's some info about me.
Hi Angela. Don't worry about not finishing school within a certain time frame. You're still young and you have you're whole life to pursue your goals. And you will. Believe me. Not only do I work for a college and see all kinds of people from different ages and backgrounds go to school, but I also finished my degree at 41 years old and have a great job that I love. I'm not saying that it will take you that long lol. But don't put so much pressure on yourself to finish. Take it one day at a time and you'll get there. Because those days turn into weeks which turn into months and semesters. You'll get there before you know it. In the meantime, enjoy your college experience. 😊
I could not have said it any better...do not put so much pressure on yourself to race through school. Like Newgirl48453, I was 41 when I finished my first degree. You're young. Try to find enjoyment in the whole college experience while working at a pace that YOU ARE comfortable with; not what everyone says you should be doing. They are not you. You know what works for you.
Welcome! I hope you find the support here like I have. I think the most important thing to do is find what works for you.
I know for me I pushed through school and didn't enjoy it as much for the first couple years because I was such an anxious mess. School will always be there and once you can cope with your illness you will be able to enjoy it and I believe be the most successful.
Best!
You are not alone in this fight! I recently joined this site also and it has helped me a lot! And your fear of ruining your life is just the anxiety talking. I am currently struggling in school because of my anxiety also. We just have to stay strong and push through. If you ever need to talk or just need some encouragement just message me! Best wishes!
