Help
I'm interested to see what suggestions you get. I don't have insurance and don't have anyway to see a doctor or anything. So when they anxiety gets too bad I use Benedryl. I know it's not the best option but it's all I've got right now.
I also don't have insurance so I cant see a doctor either… I'll share whatever answers I get with you… tried the breathing thing & it doesn't help
Hi! I am a constant anxiety sufferer and uninterested in medication. I use some standard deep breathing techniques for when i can feel myself getting anxious, can look up on google, deep inhale through nose wait 3 seconds exhale through mouth. I also try to limit my caffeine intake (MAJOR TRIGGER) I drink herbal tea 3-5 times a day and surround myself with products that include lavender and peppermint which are stress relieving to me, ie hand lotions, essential oils, bath soaks. I have also recently started using CBD marijuana tictures as as a plan b situation. If I have an especially loaded day I will use 3-4 drops of a high CBD very low THC marijuana concentrate. It is not psychoactive and has wonderful calming effects for the body. I am fortunate enough to live in a state that has legalized recreational MJ.
Hey all,
If you don't have insurance look into local organizations that provide counseling services on a sliding scale fee. Also, if you're in the US your county probably has a community services board which provides mental health services also on a sliding scale fee.
There are a lot of non medicine based tools for overcoming anxiety but a lot are learned in therapy. Another is the power of community which you've found through this group.
Some things that help me include bath soaks, decaf tea, listening to audio books or petting my dog.
Good luck!
Hey, I'm also trying to find the natural way of dealing with this anxiety, I have the meds but I refuse to take them, I just don't want to have to start relying on them
Blush 311,
It's hard to know what works for people but there are several things I have discovered through the years that help my panic attacks and anxiety. Try to get an adequate amount of sleep daily, eat small amounts of food through out the day, chamomile or mint herbal tea,( caffeine free) talk it out with friends our family members. Run your wrists under cold water. Have a positive affirmation you repeat over and over when anxiety or panic sets in. What are your triggers? What are some of your symptoms?
Wow, those a lot of helpful hints , I have to look into them, I know some of my triggers. Maybe I need also to get out more
I try to keep busy throughout the day, so I don't sit around and just think
It's hard to get out and about when you have anxiety, but, sometimes it's okay to hide and lick your wounds.. other times it's better to get out and test yourself.. almost like you have to remind yourself that you can do this!
Right, but I just want to take it one day at a time, stop thinking so much
I tried breathing & nothing seems to work. Also feel so anxious all the time. Having a lot of trouble sleeping now. Dealing with a lot MORE stress than before, use to workout & eat right. But now I have no energy to do anything anymore. My mind always feels like its on overload. . at this point the anxiety meds don't even work…. 😔
One thing I have learned about anxiety is getting your cortisol levels under control, and that's hard to do if you don't have discipline and eat the right foods. Complex carbohydrates, protien, leafy greens etc., and stay away from sugar. I'm still learning, but a lot of anxiety comes from our adrenal glands not functioning properly. The last five years of my life have been stressful to say the least and it finally caught up to me and kicked me in the ass!! Lost my grandmother, niece, two uncles my younger brother and my dad and my aunt his sister in that order. Then two of my dogs in the last six months and another one probably within the next month or two, and plus the relationship I'm in has been horrible over the last few months October to to be exact, and it's all had a hand in the anxiety problem I'm having. The winter has been miserable and it all has ganged up on me and instead of getting it out of me I held it in and it reared its ugly head as anxiety, but I'm not gonna let the crap beat me, and getting my cortisol levels under control is a good start and would probably help alot of you also. Read up on it if you haven't already, and do what they suggest and see if it doesn't help you and one thing I have found that is helping me sleep is taking 1 benadryl about half an hour before going to bed. It does help me sleep. Anyway I hope this helps some of you......
Also one more thing... If you have any bad teeth the poison from them infection getsninto your lymphatic system and will cause problems with your thyroid which will cause depression and anxiety.....
