I suggest you request a printout of your most recent blood test and post it on the Thyroid UK forum healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk
Blood tests can sometimes be within the lab ranges, but far from optimal for you, personally. The very experienced members there will be able to set you straight. I think weight loss before you are optimally medicated would be extremely difficult, so advise that you concentrate on getting healthy first

As moreless says the thyroid community on here is very active and informative. I am sure it was my hyperthyroid that put me the initial weight on (about 6st in two years) I was told, by the consultants, it was not possible, as I was Hyper, and I must be hungry and eating too much of the wrong foods. My tests came back normal most of the time too! Things have moved on from that attitude now... I hope .... but the forum can tell you all about it.
I would maybe try LCHF, but not be too disappointed at slow progress, it can be astruggle until you are leveled out. good luck.
Thanks for your comment I am speaking to my doctor next week about it all, see what she has to say about everything, and I'm going to count my calories and do a food diary to take with me.
