Hi, I am Margaret and I am 73 years old and had a stroke almost 2 years ago. I now walk very slowly with a walker and have gained far too much weight. I comfort eat in the evenings and find exercise very difficult- but I must lose weight! HELP!!!!

Hi Margaret, evenings also a problem with me. Have you tried a hobby that involves your hands? Cross stitch, tapestry etc. All the very best.
Hi Margaret and welcome.
Amanda has made a good point about keeping your mind and body occupied. I know distraction helps as I'm less likely to feel like eating just by reading and replying to posts here.
An administrator will reply shortly. Follow the link they supply and try to read (and appreciate/understand) everything they've written.
In the meantime you may want to have a look at the NHS 12 week plan. I followed it and many others here do as well.
Feel free to post any questions, thoughts, feelings etc... as there's a great bunch of helpful, friendly and knowledgeable people here.
Good luck!
Hi Amanda, it's great your here now, focus on the here and now.
I had two large pulmonary embolism in March this year, certainly weight would have played its role. I am trying to be positive and looking forward to a healthy future.
Wishing you well on your journey x
