Hope you are doing well. Yes, my turn to host again bringing with me the question of balance. What does it mean to you in your maintaining journey? Are you where you want to be? Have you managed to get on top of those extra Christmas lbs? Have you plans for lent or Easter? This time in the year can be hard as it's no longer winter but, there's still a nip in the air and I know for me at least, it's a time of feeling the need for extra calories to keep warm ! I also have a couple of birthdays coming up and hope to not go too far off track although cake has been ordered...
I am actually wanting to balance in some me time. I am definitely not prioritising that so, hopefully I can think about that this month. What are your hopes for March.

So I am kicking off March with a scary birthday Blobby cake 🎂 today is my son's birthday and I asked for a "cursed" Blobby cake to be made. There's a bit of a revival in his generation of 90's memorabilia and he thinks Blobby is great. It made him laugh at least so I think it ticked the boxes!
On the maintenance side of things , I took off the buttercream and had plain yogurt so hopefully won't veer too far off track👍
I love the cake. I remember watching Mr Blobby on TV. I'm glad your son liked it. Well done on taking off the butter cream. I think I would have eaten it😂. I'm sure a slice would not do too much damage and you should be able to allow yourself a treat for a birthday 😄
Mr Blobby making a come back! I used to have a friend whose son, like yours, loved Mr Blobby the first time round. It used to make my friend really angry as she didn’t like him.
I’ve spent much of last month with a chest infection- 2 lots of antibiotics and steroids so now trying to get back that bit of fitness I had. Today- St David’s Day- it has been very sunny and spring like. Yesterday I gave the grass a quick cut, today, I was cutting back the dead growth of flowers, bushes etc- a good workout.
I did two sessions of Aqua Good Boost, Tai Chi and Pilates - so going in the right direction.
I haven’t been on the scales for a while but don’t think I’ve lost the extra pounds from Christmas and New Year. Pancake Day on Tuesday and then some weeks to get into a Spring diet with more salads etc.
As I’ve been looking after my microbiome after two lots of antibiotics and steroids, I have been trying to have a wide range of fruit and veg as I can.
So- trying on all fronts here- hope to see some weight loss by Easter.
It is difficult sometimes get back to fitness when we've had lingering illnesses. It sounds like you are getting back on track with your exercise and activities though. The slight increase in temperature helps with the gardening for sure.
I imagine being ill has kept your focus on getting better rather than thinking about maintaining. As the spring rolls towards us I am sure you will manage to loose any extra festive lbs once back in to your routine and salads etc.
I'm glad you are better now and getting back some fitness. The sunshine and gardening will definitely help. I always find the lovely weather makes me feel better.
Sorry to hear you have been unwell. Glad you are on the mend and able to get out in the garden again.
You sound like you are really getting back into some great exercise. I love Pilates and tai chi. I can’t find a tai chi class that isn’t full round here. I find it is great exercise and very calming.
I however can all enjoy coming out of our winter mode and getting back to healthier eating.
Yes, Gizmocat is right- it is from an old Welsh recipe - mixed fruit and sugar soaked in black tea (left overnight to be absorbed) mixed with flour and mixed spices along with one egg. Baked in a lined fruit loaf tin- it is easy and relatively low calorie as there is no fat. I cut down on the stated amount of sugar. People put butter on a slice, I’m happy to eat it without. When warm out of the oven, it is yummy.
We stayed in a cottage in Wales for a few days last year and the owners left a welcome pack with a small cake and butter. I think this is what is was. I didn't know what it was called but it was yummy 😋
I hear you with that! I like swimming but I end up having too big a break in-between and have to cut right back each time...I thjnk there's probably a ratio somewhere of take a week to gain 4lbs and 4 weeks to loose 1lbs 😂
Having maintained for over a year, Ive been on a calorie deficit plan since the end of January to shift 2.5kgs that just sneaked up on me.. The target was to lose 0.5kg a week - and pleased to report that latest weigh in on 1st March I only have 0.3kg to go.
Ive adjusted my calorie tracker goal today to be to lose 0.2kgs a week which means I can eat more and still get to target weight in one more week.
Balance for this month? I have quite a few things to sort out this month - we have just had a new sunroom built to replace our old conservatory and it needs decorated, blinds installed, new furnishings etc - and then we can relax on a weeks holiday at the end of the month.
Thanks - most importantl part of the plan is that once the sun room is ready we are going to adopt a new cat. It will be perfect place for lazing around, we have already installed a cat flap in the glass door and will be getting the 3 storey cat house out of storage in the garage for pride of place in the new room
We have been catless since before christmas but wanted to get all the work done first before finding another. (Unlike grandchildren who arrive regardless of whether you are ready or not 😀 ) Already been scanning the local rescue centres
How lovely to get another cat. We had one many years ago hence my user name but we now have a dog. I'd like another cat but I don't think the dog would approve 😕
I had to be - it was time critical as this weekend I am in a powerlifting competition and I wanted to make my weight class - the same weight class I was in when I last competed 7 years ago. (52 - 57kgs) They weigh you in (like jockeys and boxers) 2 hours before the comp so you have no option but hit your weight target - not an ounce over.....
Hi there - I came back from the comp with a silver medal 🥈 Now admittedly there was only 1 other lifter in my weight class and she was probably about 40 years younger then me so I was unlikely to beat her.
But I did get a new personal best for deadlift so I must be getter better with age. 😄
Hello Bee-bop and everyone. Its so nice to see the sunshine and signs of spring. I'm trying to get out in the garden. There is a lot to do after a wet and windy winter. There are narcissi and crocuses flowering and signs of other plants coming back to life.
My month has been a bit mixed weight wise. I was doing well at the start of the month with no snacking and sticking to plan. My baby granddaughter was born 2 weeks ago and I had my 4 year old grandson staying for a few days. The healthy eating went out of the window with a hungry child asking for snacks and keeping him busy. It's difficult to resist eating when I am feeding him and I was shattered when he went home. Granddaughter is lovely and they are all doing well.
Now I'm trying to get back on track and cut out the snacks again. Fortunately being busy hasn't done too much damage. Hopefully March and the signs of spring and plenty to do in the garden will help 🌞
Congratulations on the safe arrival of your granddaughter. I’m sure that running around with a 4 year old kept you busy enough to use up the extra calories of snacks!
I think in the circumstances a slip from the plan is totally acceptable and a new arrival will no doubt keep you busy too !
Yes, lots of spring bulbs bursting forth at the moment here too and a bit of milder weather encouraged me to do a bit of planting and a tidy up the last couple of days. I am sure that the extra garden work and cutting out on snacks will get you back on track again.
Congratulations on your new granddaughter, that is such lovely news 😊
Snacking is such an easy habit to get into and so hard to get out of. I have good and bad patches.
Yes the gardens are definitely coming to life. We finally got a new lawn mower after years of struggling with the old one as it gradually fell to pieces. Our new one is battery powered and so easy to use so mowing is fun again and not just a chore.
Thank you. She's very cute. I'm still struggling with the snacking but I've finally started playing tennis again now the weather is better. I've played twice this week and definitely feeling it. Hopefully the exercise will make up for the snacking but it does make me feel hungry.😕
The garden is looking tidier and the bulbs are flowering which looks very pretty. I'm glad you are enjoying your new lawn mower. We don't have grass. It's all paving/pebbles. Supposedly easy to maintain. We are rebuilding a raised bed which went rotten. We are using sleepers and it looks great but hard work. They are very heavy. A bit odd weightlifting training 🏋♀️😂
Hello everyone, been busy dog sitting for my sister and keeping an eye on my mother- a lot of rushing around I was doing well getting back into range last week- was 0.2kg outside of my maintenance range then I went a bit mad (and still going a bit mad with over-eating and snacking ). I am weighing myself at my sister's and all my good work at losing weight has gone- I am nearly 3kg outside of my range. Admittedly it's a different set of scales (my BiL did say in the past that he liked my scales!) but I also feel a bloated, so I need to refocus and not have cake with a cuppa. I'm at my sister's for another 2 weeks so if I don't refocus soon, I will just keep gaining weight.
Using different scales could be part of the problem ( cake being the other part For the past 4 weeks Ive weighed myself both at home and in the gym and getting very different results My home scales also give different results if I weigh more than once - Ive been going with a 'best of three' approach and they do seem to give a lighter result the 3rd attempt! When I mentioned to my friend she told me she gets different results on her scales depending on which room she uses.
Well I’m using my sister’s scales as way of checking I’m not putting on anymore weight. As long as they’re show I’m starting to loose weight even if outside my maintenance range I’ll be happy then when I get home I’ll weigh myself for a more accurate measurement
You sound extremely busy as ever. It is difficult to stick to healthy eating when we are away, particularly for more than a few days. But the gain might just be the different scales.
I am sure you can get back on track when you get back home.
oops missed this- no more cake with mid morning cuppa- though that is not going well- just had a toasted tea cake😊. Also cutting down on the alcohol once I’ve finished current bottle- I only gave 1 glass a night of wine but also been having a G&T- so no more G&Ts from now🙏
8Hello Bee-bop. It is pure chance that I've popped in today, as I didn't receive your tag. Anyway, here I am. All is fine here, although I was a bit sluggish during Feb ( blame the wet and windy weather), and had a tendency to batten down the hatches at sundown with a G&T and crisps. But that bottle of Christmas gin is now empty and I won't replace it til Easter.
Anyway, I've started March with a fresh outlook... cleaner eating and more activity. I've joined a 12 week fitness group. I'm in a group of 3 oldies with a trainer, but we each have our own circuit. Mine is mainly to improve upper body strength ( after my broken shoulder) and balance, plus a bit of work on my midriff. So far so good.
My son gets married in May, so that's my incentive. I'm still the same old weight 10.2 - 10.4, and may not lose any, but to just feel a bit fitter will be great.
Edit: PS..... This month is my ten year weight loss anniversary,! I was 12 stone in April 2014, and 10 st in March 2015. The next year I lost a bit more ( 9.5 - 9.8 ) and kept it off for quite a while, but from 2020 it was much more difficult, and I've since stayed in the low 10s.
Glad you could make it, it really is a mixed bag with the alerts on here!
That sounds a very positive start to March and a real incentive to get on top of things for your son's wedding in May. Is the fitness group once a week or more often?
10 years of weight loss is something to be proud of even though you put a little back on in the last few years around Covid. Hopefully the new fitness group might help is your shoulder healed now?
Thanks Bee-bop. Pleased to say, both fractures mended and I've regained about 90% mobility. Just a bit weak. The PT class is weekly and uses heavy equipment, weighted pulleys etc, but there are a few dumbell exercises that I can do at home in between. I can't quite believe it's been 10 years - and it must be nearly that length of time that I've been on here too. Crikey!
That sounds a positive re mobility and that you can do a little of the weighted exercises at home too. Hopefully the exercise will help decrease the weakness.
10 years is quite the marker on your journey but, time seems to fly by! I think I've been here 5 ...
Re: the wedding in May, have you picked an outfit yet?
Yes, those ten years have certainly flown by for me... not sure I like that much 😕 . And yes, I have my outfit. It is a fairly informal wedding, just 50 guests, at Islington town hall in London, and reception at The Hackney. My outfit is a cobalt blue, silk trouser suit, very comfortable, and shoes in same colour.
No me neither with the years flying by! The suit sounds lovely, I like the colour and comfort is a must ! I know it's a while away but hope you have a lovely time.
I think February made us all feel rubbish but hopefully the sunshine will make us feel better. I'm glad your shoulder is better and the fitness group is helping. Do you go to a gym?
How nice to have a wedding to look forward to. Definitely a motivation to keep fit and healthy. Congratulations on your 10 year weight loss anniversary. That's a great achievement.
That's good. I would like something like that. I don't have any injuries luckily but would like a fitness group for " more mature ". I'm put off the gym by the young fitness enthusiasts🏋♀️
I agree, I felt the same previously. Pleased to say, no cropped lycra in my group, we are 3 ladies age 70 plus 🤣Having said that, it is not a doddle and I always feel quite challenged.
Liking the sound of your fitness group. Since I retired I go to a ladies 55+ exercise class in my local park every Friday morning (unless weather is dreadful) At 60 I think Im the second youngest and we all have a great time .
No cropped lycra for us - its mostly bobble hats and waterproofs
Well done to you all for doing that outdoors..I'm impressed..I have seen a senior yoga group in.the park near me, but I admit my preference is a nice warm gym 🏋️♂️ 😅
Thank you RG07, that is now how I try to look at it, and not to worry about the half stone. I'm still a healthy weight and waist to height ratio is good , so that's fine with me nowadays.
Congratulations on your 10 year anniversary elliebath !! That is quite an achievement!
I can’t get back to my original weight when I first lost. I think we have to accept that may not be sustainable. As long as we continue eating a healthy diet and stay as active as possible that is probably enough. Keeping the weight off for 10 years must mean you have found a good balance.
I like the sound of your fitness group. That sounds very motivational! Good luck with that upper body strength!
Thank you WTW. Pleased that you're still doing ok too. As you say, keeping to a healthy range with reasonable fitness is good enough. Dwelling too much on our younger "perfect" weight is not useful.
I am away from home this week, staying with my mum. I am trying to encourage her to avoid carbs as her blood sugar is not stable. But if she avoids all the naughties, then the insulin dose is too high 😏 and her blood sugar drops too low. Then today she forgot to take it with her! I have been avoiding sugar myself since early February and before I left home my weight was 59 .5kg, only 0.5 below Christmas Eve. Hopefully it will not have gone up this week.
Hi Brumosa, Hopefully it's not all managing your mum's blood sugar levels and you can enjoy each others company while you're there. It can be difficult managing parents health issues especially if they forget their meds! So you have lost 0.5kg since Christmas Eve? Is that as a result of dropping sugar in February?
Thanks, yes I have had a good time with her this week, especially Wednesday when we got up to London by taxi, train and bus. We visited the National Gallery, Covent Garden, a restaurant and a musical. Treated like VIPs at the theatre because she is disabled (using a walker). We went with my daughter, as it was her birthday. Warm, sunny weather - it was a wonderful day 😊. I think giving up sugar stopped me snacking on frusli bars, plus aiming for 30 minutes exercise helped the loss.
Sounds like you have had a lovely time with your mum and a fab day in London. It's hard to persuade parents to make changes. Well done on giving up sugar and losing weight. Hopefully your example will help encourage your mum.
Wow you packed a lot into your day in London! 3 generations of your family having a wonderful sunny day in the city 🙂
Ah, frusli bars, things like that are so easy but, not good for weight loss, my issue was trek bars .... have you a set exercise routine for your 30 minutes?
Your mum sounds amazing to manage such a day out in London! What a lovely experience for you all.
Managing someone else’s intake can be pretty challenging, and a very difficult balance between the intake and the medication.
Well done on avoiding sugar. I don’t normally have too much in my diet although the odd biscuit does creep in when I have some left over from visitors.
Crikey, your mum did very well indeeindeed for 91, that was a long day. My mum-mum-in-law is 92 and just uses a stick, but she wouldn't manage that london outing, like your mum. Well done to her.
Thanks for hosting and sorry I am so late joining in. I thought I had lost those two and an half extra Christmas pounds but a half a pound has crept back on over the last week. How is it so easy to put weight on and so hard to get it off? That has never made sense to me!! I can definitely not find much balance between enough and too much!!
I am a few pounds over my maintenance range and I’m finding it extremely difficult to get back to where i was when I first lost all my weight. I seem to be eating the same as I have done over the last four years but obviously I am not. I must have gradually increased my intake and the weight has gradually crept on. I am probably more active than I was, particularly doing a lot more yoga and Pilates so my shape hasn’t really changed despite the extra weight..
However, I would like to get back to my maintenance range at some point but don’t quite know how. Now the weather is more spring like, although very changeable, I do feel like I am eating slightly less and craving less carbs. I am going to make an effort to change things up a bit as my routine and eating habits have become a bit boring.
I am off on holiday in a couple of weeks then away visiting then we have Easter. So I have a lot of obstacles to negotiate in my quest to lose those extra pounds.
Its not always that we eat more. After we lose weight, our basal metabolic rate continues to change. I believe it drops about 0.75% per year So, our body needs less and less. Unfortunately my BMR has dropped to 1270. The ideal solution is to eat properly but exercise more ... if we can. It works perfectly for my daughter who does weights every day at 7am then runs to work! But for us old girls it's not so easy.
There is an official formula ( it involves multiplying weight by something and dividing by something else etc .....) OR use an online BMR Calculator where you simply insert height, weight, age ( age is needed to adjust for less muscle mass).
I just looked mine up and my rate without exercise is 1210 calories! But I exercise enough at the moment to bring it up to 1784 calories. But if I don’t exercise, oh my! I will be in big trouble!
The 1784 relies on 4 to 5 days of at least 30 mins exercise per week, which I manage most of the time. But that is probably my maximum. I don’t have the time or energy for any more 😅
I only dabbled with it, but I found it easier to cut calories by decreasing processed carbs ( sugar products, alcohol etc) and by increasing healthy fats . However I retained carb veg. Do you cut out those as well?
When I was losing weight I cut out most carbs. Since I've been maintaining I do try to avoid processed carbs and sugary treats but have been more relaxed about carbs, probably too relaxed. I do eat carb veg.
I'm sure we've all become much more relaxed over time. Just yesterday a relative gave me a box of chocolates. I've already eaten three. But in the old days they'd stay unopened for weeks.
1900 is great and 1400 is not too bad. But we definitely need to keep up the exercise 😅 I did half an hour of stretching/yoga type exercise when I got up this morning and was very disappointed that my smart watch showed no active minutes at all. I have just been for a walk so have now achieved today’s active minutes with a few to spare.
This trying to stay healthy is very time consuming 😂
I think it needs to be exercise that raises the heart rate. My Fitbit doesn't pick up my pilates class. It also says walking the dog burns around 200/300 calories so I think I need more exercise to get to 1900. Otherwise I'm around 1500/1600 calories. Hmm no wonder I struggle to lose weight🤔
My Fitbit picks up a couple of my yoga classes as ‘active’ but not Pilates. Most of mine is walking but I would agree it is probably only 300 calories max. One of my yoga classes causes my Fitbit to do a little celebration and say I have achieved my active minutes for the day 😂 I am fit for nothing after that 🤪
I wonder why yoga is active but pilates isn't. I think the exercises are pretty similar. I haven't managed to find a yoga class yet but I have started playing tennis again so that should burn a few more calories🎾
It all depends on the class and teacher. My active yoga class is all about going through flow routines quite quickly and is quite aerobic. My Pilates class is quite a lot of mat based work. All good for you and building muscle hopefully 😅
Oh. That's interesting. I must try and work mine out. I think I must be eating too much as I seem to be stuck and like you unable to lose the extra I have regained. I don't count calories as I have always followed low carb but I have been a bit lax in letting more carbs creep in. The answer I know is to cut the carbs which would result in less calories. Easy to say but not so easy to do 😂
Yes, she does seem very focussed. But she is only 37 and no kids or pets to sort out before work ( nor do I of course, but I still don't get going until after 9 🤣 )
Definitely- staying with a friend over the Easter weekend whilst her husband is away in Germany- she has been unwell lately so it will reassure her hubby, then I’m meeting up with a friend and we’re going g to London for 3 nights- treating ourselves to 1st glass travel both ways, afternoon tea and a show- though we haven’t booked the show yet. Stay overnight at my friends then travel further North to stay with my mam for 6 days to give my sister a break then I go home😁
Sounds like you have a lovely trip to London planned.
I think I will be joining the commiserating club. I am off to Cornwall for a long weekend for hubby's birthday. I will try and avoid the cream teas and pasties
That will be a fab 3 nights in London and good to travel in style now and again, saves the risk getting seats. Last week I went in standard class, reserved seat, but when the train arrived it had fewer carriages and no reserved seats, so it was a bun fight..If you haven't seen them, I highly recommend the show Tina. As well as Les Mis of course, and the last one I saw was Moulin Rouge .
I’ve seen Les Mes but must admit I go like Tina Turner- can you sing along or is it frowned upon? I remember goes to see the Mamma Mia show and we got told to shush by people around us, How can you not sing along to ABBA songs???
You can't really sing along to Tina, it is a musical show about her life, warts and all, and the actress we saw was fantastic, just like the real Tina.
But if you want to sing (and dance if you wish) then go to Abba Voyage. It is not like mamma mia , it is a really clever ,realistic event, just like being at a live Abba concert.
Ok, we came in via Paddington then got the tube (Elizabeth line) straight to Stratford station, which is just a short walk to the Abba Arena. We did it in daylight, the afternoon concert.
She was visiting me at my sister’s and I just got talking about one of the villagers talking about a weekend away to London to celebrate friend’s 40th and Afternoon Tea at Fortnum & Mason’s. Within 30 mins we’d booked hotel, train tickets and Afternoon Tea at Gortnum & Mason’s! A very successful and expensive afternoon😁
Hi walkthisway, No worries joining later , think I remembered on the last day once! Yes, losing is harder than putting on for sure. Do you find spring easier to navigate food wise, bar going away and Easter? It was my birthday on Wednesday so , I am still celebrating a little and not worrying too much at present.
What are you thinking of changing up in your routine and eating habits?
Happy birthday for Wednesday! I am glad that you are still celebrating. We always like to have a birthday week rather than just a day 😂
I am not sure what I am going to change yet. I just know I have become a bit stuck so need to do some things differently and also do different things 😊
Hi walkthis way - I recently set myself a challenge to lose 2.5kgs in 5 weeks to get back into the middle of my maintenance range which meant working to a calorie deficit of losing 0.5kgs a week. My plan was:
Cutting back on the extras with breakfast - so just porridge rather than porridge with nut butter - and fruit - or overnight oats/ big breakfast shake with all the added extras. EASY
Cut out the fancy coffees from coffee shops EASY
Cut out the afternoon snacks HARD
Cut out the bread with dinner HARD
no Alcohol and no desserts when out for dinner - IMPOSSIBLE!
I managed to lose 2kgs - not quite there but then:
I did have an afternoon snack - but only 1 and tried to keep to something like a yoghurt or oatcakes.
I did have bread but only the 'heels' of a baguette shared at dinner (so a 1/4 rather than a 1/2
And although I did have alcohol when out for dinner , I did manage to avoid desserts.
Im keeping to the smaller breakfasts and no fancy coffees for now till I lose that last pesky 0.5kg.
That’s very determined of you and congrats on loosing 2kg. I’ve been at my sister’s dog sitting and supervising my 90yr old mam and a lot of bad habits crept in. My sister tends to have cake with morning coffee and G&T late afternoon then a couple glasses of wine over a long weekend or when they have guests. So I’ve got in the habit of continuing that tradition whilst I’m looking after Archie😏. I’m 3kg outside my maintenance range I’ve put on 2.6kg - I thought it was their scales but obviously not😊. So I’ve reduced my daily calories, no more snacks unless part of my allowance and only have a glass of wine if I’ve burned more calories than my allowance. I’ve got until mid April (when I’m away again for nearly 3 weeks) to get closer to my range. I feel this is a common theme so far this year🤪
It can be very difficult to avoid when you're staying with family, especially if they leave temptation in the house. But in the past you always seem to knuckle down and shake off those gains afterwards RG07.
I like oats too, the rough kind. But I now just add enough boiling water to soften them, then stir in a good dollop of greek yoghurt. Sometimes a few berries if I have any, or half a banana. It is not as "cooked" as proper porridge but it's quick and filling .
I am in the same boat, as I lost 0.5kg of my Christmas weight increase but inexplicably put that back on while staying with my mother. We had internet issues this week, which made several things very frustrating (e.g. paying our house insurance online) and my mood dropped. I know I have been deliberately overeating, so forced myself to catch up on my food diary this morning, neglected since Saturday. I am 1kg heavier since the weekend 😒. So I need to get back to 60kg max. I calculated my BMR and it's 1201 without exercise, 1400 with little activity. That fits with what I would expect. So it's pretty hard to lose weight without keeping active. Yesterday I swam and moved logs. 😊
It's funny isnt it (and very annoying !) that a bad day can send us right off the rails with our eating. I understand exactly. Recently our TV stopped "talking" to the router for five days for no apparent reason. It was enough to drive a saint to drink.
Ours was a fault with the mobile phone mast. Could not change my credit card to pay the insurance... now my card is blocked as I asked for too many codes...10 messages arriving in a row.
Oh don't you just love technology 😫. Everything has to be done online but when it goes down we are stuck. No wonder you were overeating. I hope you can get back on track now
That's very frustrating re: your card getting blocked as well, technology is such a hassle sometimes. My bank wouldn't pay for my credit card online yesterday and sent me 4 codes none of which were happy! so I went into branch today. Is it all sorted now?
I love your activity of moving logs 😊 I like exercise that is purposeful and productive like that.
Internet issues are so frustrating. It is there to make life easier but when it doesn’t work properly life becomes 10 times harder. A low mood can have a very negative effect on appetite. I either overeat or don’t want to eat. Either way I end up with carb overload.
I hope your mood has improved and you are getting back on track 😊
I have got back in my maintenance range- partly due to getting back on track and reducing my calorie allowance- I was 0.6kg outside my range on Monday. However, I have had a bad case of vertigo for the last 2 days so not eaten anything during that time until this morning- but being very cautious foodwise today. Not a good way to lose weight I know, haven't weighed myself today since I know it will be artificial weight loss- but will weigh myself tomorrow since I am able to start eating today.
Oh no re the vertigo! I know how that feels and I hope that you are feeling better with that now. I guess that you can see if the scales are still saying enough of a loss for your maintenance range tomorrow ? Will you be eating gently today or eating whatever you want due to being restricted for two days?
I’m taking it very slowly- feeling a bit wobbly but that is because I’ve not eaten for 2 days. Waiting to hear back from the GP since this is the second time I’ve had it. When I weighed myself yesterday I was within my maintenance range - lost 0.7kg within 24hrs so I expect to be just above 54kg tomorrow since I won’t be eating too much today. It’s a fine line between not putting too much stress on my stomach but eating enough to get rid of that wobbly feeling. Thank you
well weighed myself this morning and I’ve lost 1kg since Monday- I’m sure if I’d weighed myself yesterday it would have been more!
I can totally understand regarding the eating enough and not stressing your stomach. Hope you can manage the right balance with that today. Fingers crossed you get some answers from your GP today 🤞
Well he thinks it’s a viral ear infection based on how the vertigo affected me. If it happens again then it will be a face to face- though not sure how I would get to the surgery- though symptoms have gone I feel very weak!
It's a little scary as you are unable to do things while struggling with the vertigo symptoms. Did he mention labrynthitis at all? That causes symptoms like this. If they ask for face to face, I think you can request a home visit in such circumstances!
