Well, according to those labs, you need to reduce your T3. But things aren't always that simple, are they.

Why are you on T3 mono-therapy?

You haven't said how you feel.

Your iron and ferritin are low, are you supplementing those?

Do you take magnesium with your vit D?

More questions than answers, I'm afraid. But you haven't really said what your question is - that's probably why you haven't had any responses.

Hello Greygoose, I'm on t3 only since January 2025 after 30years of suppression with T4 only. Then in 2020 I started Ndt, but have struggled to feel good or get optimal on it. I would literally pass out, vasoconstrict all day and all the while have no hair and remain hypo. How I feel now...The last few days I struggle to get out of bed or feel rested. My hair is thin and starting to snap off again. I have excess belly fat and slight tremors when holding small objects. I am hot in the mornings and cold in the evening. Brain fog and zero energy. I'm also constipated.

I started iron supplements, but feared more constipation. I haven't taken Ferritin yet. Iwas taking mag glycinate for years and recently stopped. My breathing is slow and my eyes are heavy, wanting to close.

It feels like I'm at the end of the road!

Thanks for any and all of your support!

You must have increased your T3 very quickly to be on 85 mcg when you only started T3 mono-therapy in January. Perhaps that's the problem.

It rather sounds like you have some degree of thyroid hormone resistance and need that high dose of T3 in order to force some of it into the cells. But I don't think you've been on it for long enough to be able to judge if it's working yet. It all takes time.

Your lack of hair could be due to your low iron/ferritin. But I don't think fear of constipation is a good reason for not taking it. You need optimal iron for the T3 you're taking to do anything. Try taking it with lots of vit C. And I don't just mean a glass of orange juice! I mean at least 1000 mg vit C.

Why did you stop the magnesium? Vit D and magnesium work together. If you don't take the magnesium, the vit d is going to deplete with with undesirable effects.

Wow, thanks Greygoose! I will gratefully take your suggestions. I should of mentioned I started with Crt3 in January and took multiple doses totaling 75mcg a day.,but eventually felt sick. I started the single 80mcg PM dose in February and about 2wks ago increase to 85mcg Thank you so much for sharing your undeniable experience/wisdom!!!

If you do have thyroid hormone resistance, the Crt3 method is not going to do you any good. You need to flood those receptors with one massive dose. And don't worry about the T3 'running out'. It doesn't happen. What does manage to get into the cells stays there for about three days.

But I think you ought to hold your dose at that for at least six weeks. Give it time to take effect.

Okay, will do. I was going to ask how long after dose change, to test. I'll test again in 4 wks and include the vitamins. Can't thank you enough Greygoose
