I posted recently about my blood results- I have numerous symptoms eg exhaustion, skin rashes, ibs type symptoms as per my previous post.

My more detailed Thyroid results are now back with a note from the lab to say they are all within range. My active B12 is also back and the result was 47.8 pmo/L. ref range 25-165.

The thyroglobulin antibodies seems high but still within range

Your results are in range but there is space at the top of the range and who knows, that might be where you feel well! Lots of luck x

Such a strange thing to say, you results are all in range. Yes, we can see that! But so what? Your TSH is too high, showing that your thyroid is struggling. Your FT4 is not quite mid-range, and your FT3 is quite good - probably because conversion is being stimulated by the TSH to compensate.

Whatever the levels of your antibodies, you cannot rule out Hashi's on the basis of one negative test, anyway, because antibodies fluctuate. And some Hashi's people never even develop high antibodies. So, here, you can't prove a negative!

Your active B12 is rather low. Do you have any symptoms of low B12?

Yes, that’s the problem, I have lots of symptoms that could be down to being anemic and lowish B12, so I’m not sure which direction to pursue

Well, a good start might be to try supplementing B vits, and see if it helps.

5000 mcg sublingual methylcobalamin. Take one every day until the bottle is finished and retest with an active B12 test - a serum B12 test would be skewed. And see if things improve.

At the same time, take a B complex with methylfolate - have you ever had your folate tested? The Bs all work together, and need to be kept balanced.

You might need to maintain supplementation to keep your levels up. It could be that just continuing the B complex would be enough. But you might need to go onto 1000 mcg sublingual methylcobalamin. You'll have to play it by ear, as it were. :)

I replied in other post - all your vitamins are dire

Read as much as possible about how to improve them all

Before starting on any. b vitamins you need to get further testing on B12

Active B12 below 70 is considered suspicious
