So many supplements!

I take so many supplements now that sometimes i feel like i'm going to rattle! 😂

I keep adding more and more so i wanted to check that i'm not messing up with timings and supplements taken together.

The timings of the ones i take during the day are because of my breaks at work, so i tend to try and keep to similar timings on my days off.

5am Levothyroxine

11.30am B Complex, Vitamin C and Collagen

3.30pm Iron (three arrows), Evening Primrose Oil, Black Cohosh

7pm Vitamin D

9-10pm (Bedtime) Omega 3, Magnesium Glycinate and L Theanine

Is this ok or am i cancelling out anything by taking the wrong supplements together?🤯

Sorry, catpurple, you made me chuckle 😄 . I've just taken a cocktail after dinner of fish oil tablets, folate and probiotics, plus a vitamin D spray. I've probably cancelled things out too!

Just a quick advice: if I were you I wouldn't take that many supplements and not for a long period of time. Like try to recycle, take for 2 months and then stop a few months then do it again according to symptoms. For example, I used to take magnesium the first month of spring and then during automne like October. Now I try to just get things through food. Supplements have a lot of crazy stuff so be careful. Good luck.

I would certainly test key thyroid vitamins (ferritin, folate, B12 and vit D) at least once a year (I do this twice), share results with us and adjust any supplements as needed.

Magnesium & Vit C are taken by many members daily. You could try reducing Vit C tablets to days when you are unable to eat sufficient fruits/ if you are feeling under the weather.

My sister swore by black cohosh for peri menopause, but it did nothing for me. It’s worth trying a period without it to see if symptoms return, so you can monitor how beneficial it is.

As vit D is fat soluble, I would take this with the fattier meal of day/ or alongside Omega 3.

SlowDragon is very knowledgeable re vitamins/ timing and may be able to offer further advice.

I take a lot of supplements too! But I try to put some on pause when starting new ones and go for the brands recommended here, because people have tried them and know that they work. The interactions between them that I know of are with calcium and iron, they need to be kept 4 hours apart, and same for thyroid hormones and any supplement. I’ve also seen magesium interacting with calcium when taken at the same time so I keep them 2 hours apart.

Hi, I also take a lot of supplements as also have fibromyalgia n other things. I use British Supplements because they have no binders and fillers, high can often affect me badly, which is really quite rare to find.

I struggle to juggle my supplement stash too but agree that Vit D best taken after a fatty meal - I take mine after breakfast. I used to take iron first thing in the morning with vit C in the form of juice for better absorption. I take my Mag glycinate in the evening too as it has a calming effect (well it used to anyway).
