Iv been on levo for about 20 years after iodine treatment as couldn't get levels down..
My current dose is 175mg a day...
I was told had vit d deficiency a few years ago so now take a supplement 1000iu...
Iv been poorly for last few months with alsorts and gp not been too helpful iv had to keep going back asking for various tests finally I've been referred to look at menieres disease and iv also got very low folic acid so now on daily 5mg..
Also told slightly anaemic so been advised to take 210 mg s day of this too which I took today. ..
I'm also taking betahistine for severe vertigo and sickness...
The last 10 days iv felt a bit better but find I'm gassy as in belching yet not sure if can take an antacid with all these meds...
Also get headaches and hav found my vision worse when reading but optician booked...
Also having to try and get used to hearing aid for tinnitus and loss of hearing in one ear...
My main questions are :
Any advice on best way to take meds as I know some dont go well together... I normally take thyroid... Vit d blood pressure meds am then betahistine hour later... Folic acid at lunch with betahistine then betahistine in eve with iron....
Can I take an antacid? If needed...
Could all the vitamin problems have lead to vertigo?...
Is a lot if this linked to my thyroid 😏...
Sorry for such a long post...
Advice feedback appreciated 🙂

Vit D, iron, calcium, magnesium and oestrogen should be taken at least four hours away from thyroid hormone. All other supplements and medication at least two hours away.
And iron should be taken at least two hours away from everything else, except vit C.
Have you had your B12 tested? If that is low it can cause dizziness.
My B12 was NHS fine, but not fine for me as my tinnitus sounded like a car alarm. The blood tests are often inaccurate, proved in my case, & I now self-inject weekly. It might be a good idea to get your results to check as GPs seem reluctant to prescribe unless they have to.
The PA forum is helpful, so perhaps post your symptoms there.
I think they usually test tsh and t4 and I'm always told its within range but as iv said to go everyone is different... Iv asked for referal to specialist but been told there's no need...
I was on levo for 4 years and never felt right even though they kept telling me my results were okay. It was only when I got Ft3 tested at the same time I was able to see that I wasn't converting the ft4 effectively and my Ft3 was at the very bottom of the range. Luckily thanks to folks on here I was able to spoonfeed this info to a listening gp and then an endo so now I have t3 added to my levo. Early days but I am improving.
Your Drs probably won’t test your T3. You might need to do a private test through blue horizon or medichecks. You could do with getting results and posting here. Just because Drs say results are normal, that doesn’t mean much!
Thyroid Plus 11 is the test to buy from Blue Horizon (I think). Tests your ferritin, Vit D, B12 and T3 T4 and TSH. Kit comes in post. Get someone to take your blood (my local survey does it for £30) then return the kit with blood sample in post then you’ll be emailed the results. We can have a look on here and maybe offer advice
Some recent research I read on here suggested better absorption taken at night. In any event I have found no problem with it and it ensures at least 4 hours gap between meds.
I was told had vit d deficiency a few years ago so now take a supplement 100iu...
100 iU per day as a vitamin D supplement is completely inadequate. In hypothyroid people absorption of minerals and vitamins is poor. Many of us need 2000 iU per day just to maintain an optimal level.
And getting to an optimal level in the first place could take a dose of 3000 iU - 10,000 iU per day for some months - but it depends on how low the vitamin D level is to start with and how well people absorb their supplements.
Vitamin D supplements can be bought online very easily in varying dosages, no prescription required. There are also other mineral and vitamin supplements that are needed to be taken at the same time as vitamin D to get the most benefit from it. But get your results first, and then post them.
