Inflammation

CRP HS 2.930 mg/L (Range: < 3)

Iron Status

Ferritin 73.40 ug/L (Range: 30 - 180)

Vitamins

Folate - Serum >45.4 nmol/L (Range: > 7)

Vitamin B12 - Active 71.2 pmol/L (Range: 37.5 - 188)

Vitamin D 88.1 nmol/L (Range: 50 - 250)

Thyroid Hormones

TSH 0.053 mIU/L (Range: 0.27 - 4.2)

Free T3 4.5 pmol/L (Range: 3.1 - 6.8)

Free Thyroxine 17.9 pmol/L (Range: 12 - 22)

Autoimmunity

Thyroglobulin Antibodies 29.90 kIU/L (Range: 0 - 115)

Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies 26.0 kIU/L (Range: 0 - 34)

Few comments from my perspective as below...

- I've posted separate Iron Panel results - although Ferratin as dropped a bit my Transferrin Saturation is out of range...see healthunlocked.com/thyroidu...

- Folate is pretty high (taking 2 x Jarrow 400mcg in addition to Thorne Basic B Complex)...Is this a problem? We are TTC at the minute, so don't want to risk this dropping to much...be glad of some advice...

- B12 has dropped from last test (Oct 23) - should I consider taking a separate supplement rather than just 2 x Thorne Basic B?

- Vitamin D has dropped...guess it's the time of year. Have started taking Better You 300IU spray in the last couple of months, but not as regular as I should be with taking it, so will monitor this. I do take magnesium and k2 with this.

- T3 & T4 have both dipped a bit (6 and 20.3 in Oct)...possibly due to a bit of Christmas weight gain, which I'm trying to reverse...!

Don't think there's anything glaring exactly in these results, but if anyone thinks there is, please let me know!

As mentioned above we are TTC so would appreciate any advice

Many thanks

Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test

is this how you did your test

FT4: 17.9 pmol/l (Range 12 - 22)

Ft4 only 59.00% through range

FT3: 4.5 pmol/l (Range 3.1 - 6.8)

Ft3 only 37.84% through range

What are you currently taking

How much levothyroxine and which brand

You may want to read as much as possible about folate levels

Some research says too much folate is not a good idea

Folate and B12 and Neural tube defects and autism

Thanks for your reply SlowDragon 😊

Yes the test was done in line with those guidelines, except I forgot to take my half dose of T3 the night before...I'm currently taking 125mcg Thyroxine (Brand Mercury/Accord) and 12.5mcg Liothyronine (Tiromel)

I've looked up a bit on Folate, and it seems that levels above 59nmol/L are considered excessive and when in pregancy it increases the risk for Autism (although too low levels can also increase this risk it seems!). With this in mind I will cut the separate folate supplement and review at my next test.

Clearly most of the research is relating to low folate levels in pregnancy and risk of neural tube defects, but did you have anything else particular in mind on that line?

It seems folate is a Goldilocks vitamin for pregnancy

We don’t want too little or too much
