Glucosamine

I've been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis and the consultant said there is some research that glucosamine can help. When I've looked into it there are mixed reports on whether it us advisable with cirrhosis. Does anyone have any information about this?

I recently saw a mention of a relationship between glucosamine sulphate and increased IOP and possible glaucoma risk.

Would glucosamine or cod liver oil tabs conflict my stomach??!! lol thanks

In particular Biotin, Cod liver oil, and Glucosamine Chondroitin? I will enquire via RA advice line once holidays are out of the way. I did ask the training nurse for my Adalimumab but she didn't know or wish to direct me to take them. Hope you're all as well as can be?🙂

Prescribed a prednisone pack and suggested tart cherry juice and glucosamine could help. Any other warriors dealing with this? Good news is that PSA is down to .1 and I remain castrate sensitive entering eighth month of doublet therapy.

I then did some reading of my own about it and found that celadrin works best when combined with glucosamine sulphate. Has anyone tried either of these for their fibro? And, if so did it help at all? And, how much glucosamine sulphate do you take?

I have been using tiger balm, heated gloves (I also have raynauds) and taking glucosamine and omega 3 supplements but I have been having a lot of pain in my forefinger knuckle joint and swelling around the joint and this normally subsides but I am on day 3 and it’s not going anywhere.

Does anyone take the supplement Glucosamine Sulphate? A friend thought it might help with the pain & stiffness, though can't seem to find too much information about whether it helps with fibromyralgia. I'd be grateful in hearing about anyones experience of taking it for fybro.

He takes the Seven Seas JointCare + Turmeric, with Omega-3, Glucosamine, Chondroitin, Vitamins C and D, Manganese and Zinc as well as Vitamin D3 and Vitamin K2 he was also taking a Vitamin B Complex supplement which also contains folic acid 50 μg (micrograms).

I’m now on same cardiac meds but have aspirin (coated) instead of warfarin and have reinstated former supplements partic glucosamine because osteoarthritis in knee and hip has become so painful.

My rheumatologist once recommended turmeric and glucosamine but I’ve read an article that mentioned avoid if taking DOACs. Any input appreciated. Thank you and take care 🦊x

I take Vit D3(1000iu-year round now), cod liver oil with omega 3, vitamin C and zinc, glucosamine and chrondroitin (osteo arth). I lost 6lbs before diagnosis and just put 3lbs back. I'm 5'4" and weigh 8st9lbs.

I need any hints or tips anyone can give on diet or natural supplements to help me get through the days until I see a consultant because I can't have anymore time off (currently taking cold liver, glucosamine chondroitin msm, turmeric, Naproxen and Paracetamol).

I have started to take glucosamine tablets to see if that helps. But again, any advice at all to manage/relieve the pain? I currently just take paracetamol for this when I need it! Thanks in advance!

In preparation for my Medichecks blood test, three weeks ago I stopped taking B12, and then about 7 days before the test, I stopped magnesium and glucosamine as I didn’t know if these affected the blood results.

Additionally, I take glucosamine for my joints and marine collagen for hair and nails mainly. By Christmas I saw no improvement in my level of energy, but having been abroad, bought some Levothyroxine over the counter in a pharmacy in Spain – 400 25 mcg tables for less than 4 euros.

As I’m on flecainide and bisoprol he said fine and to all the other things I asked him for joint pain: glucosamine, turmeric etc etc!) . Obviously this is just in my specific case but interesting maybe.
