Mention to the dr about what you had said about iron panel/ chronic disease, she said yes your thyroid wasn’t sure if she was doing it although she’d book me to have bloods I had already sent to medichecks for a test these are the results .
Thyroxine 150 and t3 went up to 25

These are what the dr did , she hasn’t done a full iron panel, haemoglobin level 145(115-165)
White blood cell 7.2 10-9/L(4.10-11). Platelet count 174 (135-450) 10.9/L red cell 4.99(3.8-4.8)

Oh sorry I meant to put that in it was done 8/30 in the morning only water last thyroxine 24 hours before and split t3 which is a bit hard so I think it was probably 3/4 of tablet when I took thyroxine and last bit was about 12hours before test thankyou for getting back to me ,
When did you take your last doses of Levo and T3 before the test? Last dose of Levo should be 24 hours and the day before the test T3 should be split into 2 or 3 doses and last dose 8-12 hours before test. This all avoids any false high or false low results.
Increases in T3 should be by 1/4 of a tablet at a time so really you should have gone from 12.5 to 18.75mcg and waited 6-8 weeks for levels to settle rather than going from 12.5 to 25mcg.
Crp 3.08 (0.3) - I think the range might be <3
CRP is elevated which means there is some inflammation.
ferritin 138(30-650)
Ferritin is falsely elevated due to inflammation confirmed in CRP result, so you don't have your normal ferritin level reflected here.
folate 3.6(8.83-60.8)
This is extremely low and shows folate deficiency. You should speak to your GP who will probably prescribe a course of folic acid. You should retest after you've finished the course. You probably wont get any more prescribed but you should continue with a B Complex to maintain your new folate level.
However, see comment under B12 below and don't start folic acid before further investigation, if necessary, into B12.
vit b12 63.3(37-188)
Active B12 below 70 suggests testing for B12 deficiency according to Viapath at St Thomas' Hospital:
If you do then list them to discuss with your GP and ask for testing for B12 deficiency and Pernicious Anaemia. Do not take any B12 supplements or folic acid/folate/B Complex supplements before further testing of B12 as this will mask signs of B12 deficiency and skew results and if you have B12 deficiency and it is not detected and treated then this could affect your nervous system. B12 deficiency should be treated before starting folic acid because folic acid can sometimes improve your symptoms so much that is masks B12 deficiency.
If you don't have any symptoms then you could take a B12 sublingual (methylcobalamin) along with a good quality bioavailable B Complex, I'd suggest using one bottle of B12 then retest and if Active B12 is then over 70 stop the B12 and just continue with the B Complex.
When taking B Complex we should leave this off for 3-7 days before any blood test as it gives false results.
B Complex brands popular here are
Thorne Basic B - can be difficult to find and can be expensive
Vitablossom Liposomal B Complex - from hempoutlet.co.uk
Yipmai Liposomal B Complex - same as Vitablossom and from Amazon
Pink Tribe Liposomal B Complex - from Amazon
vit d87.9(50-250)
Not too bad although the Vit D Council, Vit D Society and Grassroots Health all recommend a level of 100-150nmol/L.
Your T3 brand is the one I use and I've not noticed any problems with it.
Thankyou for getting back to me , test was 24 hours before for thyroxine I split t3 but it was probably about three quarters that I took with t4 , and the other quarter about 12 hours before test , I do feel weak not that much energy have to keep sitting down after I’ve done something I’m terrible with remembering things they have said something wrong with my liver do I still need ironpanel doing as well I thought the test from medichecks did serum iron as mine was only 10 last time from drs , but it didn’t thankyou again I’ll see what I can get drs to do , what do I do about t3 , I didn’t just start taking the 25 I took a bit extra for a week and a half and then went up to the 25 , I don’t know what to do now but thanks for your help.
Serum iron: 55 to 70% of the range, higher end for men - yours is 16.64% so is rather low.
Saturation: optimal is 35 to 45%, higher end for men - yours is 20% so again rather low.
Total Iron Binding Capacity (TIBC) or Transferrin: Low in range indicates lack of capacity for additional iron, High in range indicates body's need for supplemental iron - yours is 23.13% through range.
Ferritin: hard to comment without a range and without know if there is any inflammation which CRP test would show.
So your serum iron and saturation suggest you may benefit from some iron supplementation but your transferrin is low in range which suggests you don't. It's quite common with an iron panel to have conflicting results like this.
In reply to your previous post about these resuts humanbean said they could suggest Anaemia of Chronic Disease
She gave you a couple of links about this, did you read them?
As iron is complicated then I'm afraid I'm not in a position to suggest what you should do in the light of the possibility of anaemia of chronic disease, maybe discuss with your GP as your symptoms may be connected with that.
Here is BMJ's article about anaemia of chronic disease:
I did but I don’t always take things in , I did ask gp if she would do iron panel,as to what was said about anemia of chronic disease she just looked at me and said your thyroid , I think I’ll try and write to drs in e consult to put down all the things , thanks again I hope your keeping well.
Thankyou I’ll give it a go ,it’s just sorting out when to eat not too close to them that’s why I took them all at once , thought I couldn’t go wrong like that but thanks for your help
