B12

44.8pmol/l. 140pmol/l

(37.5-150). (37.5-188)

B12 has improved really well. No need for separate B12 supplement now, I would just continue with the B Complex which should maintain your level.

Vit D

73nmol/L. 90nmol/L

(50-200). (50-250)

Vit D is improving. Is your D3 and K2 a combined supplement or two separate supplements?

If separate supplements are they both oil based, eg softgel with olive oil, etc? If not they should be taken at different times of the day and each one with some fat for absorption.

The Vit D Council, Vit D Society and Grassroots Health recommend aiming for 100-150nmol/L although at least 125nmol/L is recommended by Grassroots Health.

Ferritin

124ug/L. 105ug/L

(13-150) (30-150)

Not bad, aim to maintain this level by eating iron rich foods regularly.

5/10/22 25/11/22

TSH 0.85mu/L (0.27-4.2). 0.78mu/L

FT4 19.2pmol/L (12-22). 22.3pmol/L

FT3 3.8pmol/L (3.1-6.8). 4.6pmol/L

Did you take last dose of Levo 24 hours before test?

How much Levo do you take?

Results suggest poor conversion of T4 to T3 as FT4 is 103% of range and FT3 is only 40.54% through range. As nutrients are at pretty good levels then maybe consider addition of some T3 to a slightly reduced dose of Levo.

Hi SeasideSusie,

Thank you for the quick reply,

I've just done the calculator thingy, very nifty.

T4 a bit over and t3 better than it was but still not quite there.

Your suggestion is what I thought, lower levo and start T3.

I have been reading alot of posts with the prescribing difficulties of T3.

I have downloaded articles that you and others have kindly posted , so will work upto makeing an appointment with the GP.

I take 175 mcg of Levo and took the last dose 24 hours from test.

The vit D K2 is Nature's Best combined, 2 capsules of 1000iu.

I'll get there, hopefully, think positive thoughts.

Thank you

The vit D K2 is Nature's Best combined, 2 capsules of 1000iu.

You might want to consider 3 x 1,000iu during the winter months as we can't make any D3 naturally at the moment, see if that gets you up to the recommended level.

Which brand of levothyroxine are you currently taking

Do you always get same brand levothyroxine at each prescription

As you have Hashimoto’s are you on strictly gluten free diet or dairy free diet

Before considering adding T3

You might try splitting your dose levothyroxine

Say 100mcg waking and 75mcg at bedtime (or vice versa)

Can give better conversion for some people

If going to reduce dose a little BEFORE considering adding T3……perhaps just reduce to 167.5mcg 4 days week and 175mcg 3 days

Main question is are you feeling any improvements so far

Hi Slow Dragon,

Always have the same brand Levo , which is 150 accord and 25 Northstar teva.

For next prescription I have changed to chemists for u as they have told me they can get Mercury Pharma. So we can only try to see if the change happens.

My skin is so terribly itchy.

Trying really hard with not eating gluten, that's not to bad, but dairy is difficult, I love eggs. We have been good with our diet, we've been following the harcomb diet and each receipie outlines which ingredients contain dairy etc, not lost any weight mind🤣.

I will start splitting the dosage, we can try👍

I'm tired, itchy skin, my hair loss, slowed down slightly,

I am sure I'm peri menapausal. Which is part of the reason I wanted to get my thyroid under control and then maybe go down the path of HRT.

Struggling with aches and pains in feet and ankles and have a very swollen knee as I have inflammation around it, with a meniscus tear and cartilage rubbing together.

My bloods never show any raised inflammatory markers and I don't have the Rhumatoid gene.

I have tried various inflammatory medication over the last couple of years, but due to side effects they haven't worked, and am due to start a Jak inhibitor next week. Rhumatology has told me last try and then she will diagnose with fibromyalgia.

I am due for knee aspiration and cortisone at some point, hopefully soon.

Have alot going on with my feet and have had 2 lots of ultra guided injections a couple of years back.

I get passed fromOrthopaedics to rhumatology, then rhumatology to orhopeadics.

In between I work in a warehouse for a parcel delivery company that's on strike.

Trying not to give in😊😁

Oh actually I did a DNA swab a few weeks back, so we can see what that tells us. My poor credit card, another Christmas present to myself 😂.

Sorry it's Friday night, log off, you need a break from me.

😘

Is this plantar fasciitis ?

Often improves dramatically with addition of T3 prescribed alongside levothyroxine

Email Thyroid U.K. for list of thyroid specialist endocrinologists and doctors who will prescribe T3 if clinically appropriate

tukadmin@thyroiduk.org

roughly where in U.K. are you

Hopefully ditching Teva might improve things too
