Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies 75 IU/mL (< 34)

Folate - Serum 12.14 ug/L (> 3.89)

Vitamin B12 - active 150 nmol/L (37.5-150) 100.0%

Vitamin D 120 nmol/L (50.0-200.0) 46.7%

Ferritin 56.1 ug/L (30.0-400.0) 7.1%

Firstly credit to programmer for the results displayer (is that english), sorry would use name but not sure how to pause and get back to my post.

Last levo 24 hrs before 100/75, T3 10 hrs before, split in 2 (half of 25 tab daily) stopped B complex 5 days before. better u. Vit D plus K better u daily, sometimes forget.

generally feeling a bit better, (don't say I don't want to be here as much!) hair loss still a problem, maybe not as bad. Trying to work out a simpler Levo routine is it ok to take 100 every other day?

Seaside Susie helped before but appreciate any comments Thank you

All looks pretty good apart from ferritin

Lots of iron rich foods to help push level up further

Might be worth testing zinc - can be linked to hairloss

Or just take a zinc supplement once a week

are you gluten/dairy free

When we are on combination thyroid hormone replacement, it's very individual where we need the individual levels of FT4 and FT3, some of us need them fairly well balanced over half way through range, some are fine with a lowish FT4 as long as FT3 is in the upper part of it's range, so it's a case of we need to experiment to see what suits us best. This makes it difficult to comment on results other than to ask how you feel with these levels.

You can ignore TSH, we don't need a percentage anyway with TSH. TSH is useful for diagnosis but once on thyroid hormone replacement it's not particularly relevant, it's a pituitary hormone not a thyroid hormone. Taking T3 is going to lower, often suppressing, TSH so it's even more irrelevant when on Levo plus T3.

You can also ignore the ratio, again it's irrelevant when taking T3. The ratio of T4:T3 shows whether or not we have good conversion but it can only show this if we are taking Levo only, once we start taking exogenous T3 then ratio and conversion have have nothing to do with it.

So you just need to look at FT4 and FT3 - are these levels right for you?

How long have you been on your current doses of Levo and T3?

Folate - Serum 12.14 ug/L (> 3.89)

Is this a Medichecks test, if so the range is 3.89-19.45. Folate is recommended to be at least half way through range which would be around 12 plus so your result is OK.

Vitamin B12 - active 150 nmol/L (37.5-150) 100.0%

I thought Medichecks Active B12 range is 37-188, whatever it is this is a good result.

Vitamin D 120 nmol/L (50.0-200.0) 46.7%

We can't do percentages with Vit D. Vit D has categories - deficiency, insufficient, sufficient. Each category has a lower and upper limit. The "sufficient" category is usually >50 or >75 depending on the lab. However, I always go by what the Vit D Council, Vit D Society and Grassroots Health recommend, which is a level between 100-150nmol/L with a recent blog post on Grassroots Health recommending at least 125nmol/L. So forget your result working out at 46.7%, it's misleading and just not relevant. Your level is good and exactly where it should be according to those Vit D dedicated websites.

It would seem that the supplements that you take for the above are giving you good levels.

Ferritin 56.1 ug/L (30.0-400.0) 7.1%

Now I'm beginning to wonder if this is a Medichecks test after all because their ferritin range is usually 13-150. 400 is usually the upper limit of a male range.

Whatever the range is with any of the private labs and GP tests the unit of measurement is always ug/L. This then makes a bit of a mockery of the ranges being so very different, and Medichecks now have started using a new testing lab and their range goes up to 650! So how can they all be right? I no longer look at percentage through range for ferritin, I go by what I have read:

thyroidpharmacist.com/artic...

particularly the part where it says:

According to some experts, ferritin levels of at least 40 ng/ml are required to stop hair loss, while levels of at least 70 ng/ml are needed for hair regrowth. The optimal ferritin level for thyroid function is between 90-110 ng/ml.

You can help raise your level by eating liver regularly, maximum 200g per week due to it's high Vit A content, also liver pate, black pudding, and including lots of iron rich foods in your diet

bda.uk.com/resource/iron-ri...

everydayhealth.com/pictures...

Don't consider taking an iron supplement unless you do an iron panel, if you already have a decent level of serum iron and a good saturation percentage then taking iron tablets can push your iron level even higher, too much iron is as bad as too little.

Trying to work out a simpler Levo routine is it ok to take 100 every other day?

What dose are you wishing to achieve daily?

Thank you S S for your reply, ok .....so I have been on this dose since 13 Sept (9 weeks) and yes it is Medichecks Eurofins, I am making an effort to be best I can so good to know that its slowly paying off, just knackered most of the time, I couldn't get liver at the weekend but did get duck liver pate does that work? I can see I have a way to go.

With regard to dose, I was going to go lower with levo so 100 every other day would be 58 per day then if necessary up T3 by 1/4 of tablet.

I wonder if Ferritin showed a bit lower cause I stopped the B complex for a few days, now back on them. There was a blip in the summer with them. I have a feeling that the hair is improving, that scabby thing on my head is bigger even though GP said it was just an old person thing, I hope that is not the reason my CRP has gone up.

There is iron in duck liver pate but I'm not sure how much compared to, say, lamb's liver. Why ot reduce Levo from 100/75 to 75 daily to start with, retest 6-8 weeks later then see how it changes your level and how you feel. I think at this stage small changes can make a big difference so it's best to go slowly.

I don't think stopping the B Complex for a few days would have affected your ferritin level.

Thank you, yes you are right as compared to the last result and when I started T3 in February was too much and I have tweaked small amounts and kept it going for a 6 plus weeks. That is the reason on paper and in myself there is improvement, hopefully I will get there have a good weekend.

dipsyqueen you might be better to stay at the doses you're on for another couple of months to see if you improve any. Feeling good was a very gradual thing for me after reaching my optimal doses. I'm assuming it's because I was poorly for such a long time and my body needed time to heal, but it may just be a thing that happens. I was doing great until perimenopause hit and had to add HRT into the mix. I'm now trying to get back to a new optimal dose for me but having to take it really slowly as I know body needs the time to catch up with the new T4/T3 doses.

Hello Fab-jellybean Yes am thinking same, taking in what Slowdragon and Seaside Susie has said, there is no quick fix, takes perseverance that can be difficult. Thank you for your reply, much appreciated.
