Checked my results on System Online, so these were taken on 22/6/22.
The blood test was necessary because the doctor reduced my Levo to 75mcg from 100mcg. a while ago. Although I had asked them to include free T3 too, it appears that it wasn’t done.
There is a message on them telling me ‘need to speak to the doctor’.
TSH - 0.11 mu/L [0.35 - 4.94]
Free T4 - 14.9 pmol/L [9.0 - 19.0]
Ferritin - 119 ug/L [15.0 - 200]
Folate - 11.2 ug/L [3.0 - 20.0]
B12 - 755 ng/L [80.0 - 640.0]
Vit D - 124.1 nmol/L [50.0 - 350.0] (note ref change from 14/9/21)
Do you think he wants to talk about the B12 result. I just wanted to find out what you thought before I rang the surgery.
Thank you.

Ellie I think he wants to speak about the low TSH result which is under range. You need to point out that with ft4 sitting well within range at 14.9 you are not overmedicated and that the ft4 is well within the boundaries of 'normal'. Under the normal distribution of results within a range you would expect the majority of folks to fall around the 50% level. 50% of that ft4 range is 14 so you are average!
I really hope not, because since it was reduced I have been a lot more tired, my hair is thinner and my wretched eczema came back between my fingers. It’s the very devil of a job dealing with it, everything that worked before isn’t working now. I have that many different pots of stuff on the table, and I’m using silver soap. Antihistamine for the itch, you name it and I bet I tried it.
Hi, test was done at 08:25 on the Wednesday. I didn’t take the night before’s tablet but it was early Tuesday at 01:40 ish that the last one was taken just before bed. (I wait up for my cats to come in). So there were more than 24 hrs. I did message Seaside Susie about the times mistake because I had fully intended to make sure of the hours this time, unfortunately I just forgot. But I have never worked the times out before, so as the hours all sort of match up would it make much difference in the long run?
I would have cancelled and tried harder to get it right this time but it had taken so long to get the appointment booked in that I decided to go ahead with it.
I take 50’s of North Star and split one so that I keep the same manufacture. I live on the coast between Worthing and Littlehampton.
If GP says " I have to reduce your dose because the guidelines say i can't let you have a below range TSH" .....
The first paragraph in the NICE (NHS) Thyroid Disease, Assessment and Management guidelines says :
nice.org.uk/guidance/ng145
"Your responsibility
The recommendations in this guideline represent the view of NICE, arrived at after careful consideration of the evidence available. When exercising their judgement, professionals and practitioners are expected to take this guideline fully into account, alongside the individual needs, preferences and values of their patients or the people using their service. It is not mandatory to apply the recommendations, and the guideline does not override the responsibility to make decisions appropriate to the circumstances of the individual, in consultation with them and their families and carers or guardian. "
I have just had a call from the doctor after I got in touch with the surgery. He told me that it looked as if I was over medicated. I told him my tiredness had returned after my Levo had been reduced from 100 down to 75 so I really didn’t want any more taken off. He has agreed to keep it at 75mcg.
(I always used to be able stay up gaming with a friend until around 2am. After my reduction I began to feel very tired around 9pm. I had never been tired like that before).
I have an appointment soon about something else, so I shall enquire as to whether I have ever had antibodies tested because I have no idea.
What do you mean, in a week or so? I have been the same ever since it was reduced a few months ago. Originally I had asked for it to be raised from 75 to 100 because I had started to feel cold and tired again.I’d been feeling fine on 100 for a year or so, until another wretched doctor told me I was taking too much.
No chance of winning any money, we don’t do the lottery. Lol
I am adding details of how I am feeling now just to keep a record. Seeing the doctor in 2 days (so that will be 18/7/22).
(I think I need more Levo not less, but am really hoping doc suggests another blood test).
Symptoms since Levo was reduced down from 100 to 75:
Tired and yawning early evening, even though I sleep well and go to bed around midnight, much earlier than I used to.
Putting weight back on.
Hair getting thinner.
Itching around lower front neck.
Extremely bad, itchy, and spreading eczema/dermatitis? between and up fingers down to palms. Fingers dried up, weepy and swollen, too stiff to bend. Feels as if something is crawling in my skin.
Left leg feels tight sometimes, but ankle swells during the day…worrying!
Have been taking antihistamine for itching but it dries my tongue out so don’t take it every day.
