Paying for t3 meds

Hi, I've just had a private prescritpion for 100 Thybon Henning 20mcg and it cost £65.
That’s not too bad! I do remember when it was £300 a couple of years ago, that’s why I never went private, how did it work out for you?
Yes, it's very manageable, I find the Thybon Henning is good and splits easily if necessary.
Are you feeling any better for taking the t3 meds?
Like night and day, I have my life back! We are all different, who knows, but when feeling so dreadful anything is worth a try.

Welcome to the forum Adamz82
So we can offer better advice on whether Liothyronine may benefit you, can you tell us more about your thyroid condition, eg when you were diagnosed, ongoing symptoms, current medication & dosage, plus blood test results (with ranges in brackets) for:
- TSH
- FT3
- FT4
Plus any antibody and key vitamin tests (ferritin, folate, vitamins D and B12)
In the first instance, do ask your GP for the above tests. We don’t recommend supplementing key vitamins without testing first (and sharing results with us).
If your GP is unable to complete all the above (eg if TSH is within range, some surgeries may not be able to access FT4 and FT3 tests), you could look to do this privately, as many forum members do, for a better picture of your thyroid health:

I’ve booked to go private since the nhs like to pass the buck
Personally I would consider getting full thyroid blood , key vitamin and antibody tests completed prior to your private appointment (as Medichecks/ Blue Horizon etc are invariably cheaper than those via private hospitals). This also means you have the results to hand to discuss at your first appointment.
