Please can someone help me with my blood results. I am dizzy shaky , have migraines, heart palpitations off and on very tired and brain fog. Depression is v low at times. I honestly think I am too high T4 medication.
I reduced my t3 to 5mg this last eight weeks as my heart palpitations were bad and chest soreness. My doc says it’s from the vaccine first and second.
Results :
Full blood count Satisfactory
White cell count Normal
Iron Profile satisfactory
T4 21.9
T3 5:8 range 3.1-6.8
TSH : 0.02 Range 0.27-4.2
Ferritin : 86 range 13-150
I am waiting to hear my Vitamin D and B12
Much appreciate in advance 😊

Thank you for your reply I appreciate it , hope you are well.
I haven’t been well this last two years cannot get rid of vertigo , I reduced my T3 medication 8 weeks ago as I was having heart palpitations and chest soreness to 5mg.
My free T4 is actually 22.5 and range is 12.22
I honestly think I am too strong a dosage of T4 100mg and I have been saying that to my consultant for some time. I was originally on 20mg of t3 then I reduced to 10 then 5.
I wonder if you’d change your Levo to 85mcg per day. To do that, you just skip one days medication. For example atm your total weekly Levo is 700mcg, dropping it down to 600mcg per week would average out at 85mcg per day instead of 100mcg.
Keep this going for 6wks and then test. It’ll be interesting to see what’s going to happen to your FT3 result after you’ve dropped down to 5mcg of T3.
Have you ever taken travel sick tablets for the vertigo? You can’t stay on them for more than a couple weeks but again it would be interesting to see if they help, but I’d also try and get that investigated as a separate problem.
I’ve had bouts of vertigo that can last from 2wks to 3/4mths. Some have Said it’s labyrinthitis or vestibular disturbance - BPPV
Some think it’s tiny little crystals dislodged in inside my inner ear.
You can try and do the Epley manoeuvre at home or you may like to see a specialist physio/other who can do this with you. These are movements that try and re balance/recentre you to stop the vertigo.
There are several reasons for vertigo, so if the above treatments don’t work you may have Menieres disease or migraines. I wonder if ENT would take a look?
That is awful that u have suffered so much also. Vertigo is rough I have had it this last two years all the time and constant infections.
I have said to my consultant I needed to reduce t3 as it was 20mg and it was making my head spin severe migraines twice a week for two years. He agreed to cut down to 10 mg and then after first vaccine I took severe palpitations and chest pain they thought I had clot in my lung.
After getting advice on this forum I reduced to 5mg and now T4 is even higher. I have Hashimotos , my GP says that he believes my thyroid has been flipping for many months and over working.
Is it not dangerous to have T4 above range? My consultant used to listen to my symptoms and go by bloods also, now he seems to go by bloods. I have been getting Chiro to help the vertigo also.
Last vertigo episode was Feb , touch wood nothing bad since. Although I can get a mild form of imbalance that feels like the world is surreal - dreamlike. Mine started during my 2nd pregnancy. 19yrs ago. I was about 8mths gone and that was extreme severe spinning, I had no idea what is was, just woke up and couldn’t not stand, to say it was unpleasant would be an understatement. I went to hospital and was screaming, they gave me an anti motion injection which at least settled things to a point were I wasn’t totally unnerved.
Then another lesser bout about 10yrs ago, not as severe but couldn’t drive or walk much for 6wks, but that lasted 3mths.
Feb 2021 was my latest, mild but still I couldn’t work for 2wks. So I guess I probably get an attack every 10yrs. In between, I just get small disturbance and often if I go up in a lift or am up high, I can’t stomach it.
It’s not dangerous to have high FT4, it just doesn’t do anything for you, it’s a waste. It’s the FT3 that you need to concentrate on. Have you been told that you’re not a good convertor? Is that why they put you on T3?
Yes with Hashi’s you can have swings and so it’s not uncommon for meds to go up and down. It’s just that GP’s don’t seem to understand this.
Did you only get headaches when you introduced T3 or have they always been there? I wonder if your body doesn’t like the Levo? Or do you just not need the T3?
That’s awful vertigo is such a terrible feeling hopefully u won’t have it again.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2007 was so unwell and thin . I saw my consultant in 2014 he gave me iron infusion introduced t3 and vitamin D and increased my T4 gradually.
I have had vertigo since then over the years some periods none at all. Hashis was diagnosed in 2016 .
My t3 at the start hardly converted at all though once consultant fixed all those things I started to convert well.
He also put me on b12, b1 and b6 which did help migraines at that time. My ferritin always seems to b low and b12 which doesn’t help or Folate. My iron is a lot better now though b12 a bit to go.
I honestly don’t know what he will do . I take accord actavis levo. The brand of liothyronine is Morningside though pharmacist is wanting me to take Teva or Pharma which I cannot tolerate.
