Hello & welcome.

Please add ranges. (Ranges differ between labs)

Are you diagnosed with a thyroid condition? Do you currently take any medication eg Levothyroxine or supplements?

Sorry meant o also say I have no diagnosis and take no meds. Just embarking on tests because of various symptoms.

GPs in the UK do not prescribe replacement thyroxine until the TSH is above 10 or the FT4 & FT3 are below range.

Your FT4 is only just in range and FT3 is 30% through range, so those levels are low.

Something to monitor for rising TSH & or low FT4 & FT3. Your antibodies are negative, for autoimmune thyroiditis. Levels can fluctuate.

When was the sample taken? TSH highest and FT4 lowest in early morning after fasting overnight. Did you test like this?

Supplements containing biotin (B7) can skew results, avoid 7 days before testing.

Again GPs only consider nutrients outside of range to be an issue. Most do look good. Im not sure if your folate is optimal.

Wow! Thank you so much PurpleNails, I really appreciate such an informative answer!

Test was taken at 2:30pm but I had fasted overnight until then. I read it’s optimal to do the test in the morning and in hindsight I should have waited until the next morning. But I’ll know that for next time. I don’t take any supplements or medication. Am seeing Dr on Monday as I have just started having rheumatoid arthritis (needs to be confirmed). I have a condition called Chronic Idiopathic Urticaria with angioedema and anaphylaxis. Obviously this is all immune related so thought it prudent to have thyroid testing to check as GP often don’t test for all the things.

Not sure why my Magnesium is currently high? I used to have low magnesium was given B12 and Magnesium infusions but that was 20 years ago for CFS (more immune things!). I wonder if that might be a test issue, I read it can often be a false reading. Might ask dr to retest that.

No idea why FT4 and FT3 are low or what that indicates.

Guess I just have a slightly rubbish immune system!

Thanks again for the info!
