Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)

Last Levothyroxine dose should be 24 hours prior to test, (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).

If/when also on T3, make sure to take last dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test

Is this how you do your tests?

Do you normally split T3 or take as single dose?

How do you feel?

What vitamin supplements do you currently take?

Hi SlowDragon

Thank you for responding to my post.

I take the bulk of my meds in the morning and I usually take half T3 at midday. However on the day prior to the test I the took half the T3 at 6 p.m.

On the day of the test I set out to have the blood drawn at 8 a.m. but ended up at the wrong clinic and had to phone Medichecks for the correct clinic. I finally found the clinic and had blood drawn at 9 a.m.

I have seen on another forum, an American Facebook for thyroid that blood should be drawn 12 - 15 hours after last dose. I don't know if this is right.

In March of this year my thyroid test results were:

TSH 0.01, FT4 18.7, FT3 5.5 same ranges and this was 14 hours after last dose. Blood taken at 8 a.m. after fasting and same dosage.

I find it difficult when I have to change times for dosing from midday to evening.

I have ongoing symptoms of periodically feeling cold, dry, 'tight' skin, constipation and a sore/painful throat that varies but doesn't go away. These symptoms worsen when I have to delay taking the midday T3. Any changes in timing affects me.

Supplements that I take are:

Adrenal Cortex, Vitamin C (500mg), B Complex, B12, Selenium, Vitamin D3 and K2, Magnesium, fish oil and collagen.

I am and have been hypo for some time and trying to find out why I am having a hard time finding wellness, hence the long list of blood tests.

Which vitamin B complex are you taking?

You could perhaps try reducing and then stopping B12 supplement. Your vitamin B complex will contain this.

Yes I am taking NutriBiotanicals B12 but will reduce and stop.

I take Igennus B Complex and it does contain B12.

Thank you.
