9 Thyroid supplements Every Hypothyroid Patient Should Consider Using

6 Sep 2016

I have recently got some symptom relief using this video taking suppliments as directed by this doctor. I also split my tablets, taking my thyroid 175mg at night with b12, magnesium, selenium and zinc. In the mornings I take my Yasmin, anti-depressent, vitamin d, ginseng, tumeric, probiotic and vitamin c. It's a very expensive balance but at the moment I'll take anything for a little bit of relief and it's also made the terrible headaches which my doctor said was nothing to do with my thyroid an were migraines much less frequent and easier to manage. My main issue now is weight loss! I have gained alot of weight since my diagnosis 4 years ago my current TSH is 4 and my T4 is 16. I have never been tested for my T3 even though I've been under a specialist since 2017. The same doctor from the video above says possible cause could be leptin resistance or insulin resistance and also mentioned too much oestrogen or not enough testosterone has anyone been able to have these tests from a UK GP? This is all important to me as I am hoping to have children in the future.

Thyroid hormone should be taken on an empty stomach, two to three hours after your last meal (if taken at night), two hours away from B12, selenium and zinc, and four hours away from magnesium.

If you are taking them all at the same time, you won't be absorbing much hormone.

Vit D should be tested before supplementing, because too much is toxic. And, it's best to test B12 before supplementing, too, or you could miss signs of Pernicious Anemia. You should also take a B complex with as well as B12, because the Bs all work together and need to be kept balanced. :)
