Armour Thyroid and Weight Loss

Has anyone tried and had success losing weight while taking Armour Thyroid after having a complete thyroidectomy due to an enlarged thyroid treating hypothyroidism?

I am not asking in the sense of using Armour to lose weight. I'm asking in general if anyone has had any issues that they may not have had previously.

What worked for you, what didn't?

I have taken ndt and can assure you only getting the balance optimal will help with weight loss. Too high a dose won’t help overall health either. When optimal, diet to she excess weight. There is no easy way.

Hi Miffie,

I am not asking in the sense of using Armour to lose weight. I'm not looking for an easy way to lose weight. I'm curious if others have tried and succeeded.

I think we have crossed wires. I was trying to say that it is possible to lose weight when hormone balance is optimal.

Hi Scrumbler,

I'm asking in regards to losing weight correctly not by using Armour as a way to do so.

Hey there again ;

Guessing you've been in dry dock this past year !

Anyway, I don't take Armour but another brand of NDT :

I have lost weight from when on T4 - only and feel so much better - the weight loss a subtle and an added bonus.

I'm with Graves post RAI ablation and now in my third year self medicating :

Dry dock? I'm glad you're doing well.

No cruises happening due to Covid -

or are you still all at sea - waiting to be allowed to dock somewhere ?

Sorry for my strange sense of humour !!

Ah, okay--LOL. Yeah, we've definitely been dry-docked. We are looking forward to going again as soon as it's safe to go back on the water! :-)

Your sense of humor is fine I just didn't make the connection--smh.

I have been taking 1 grain of Armour with 50mcg levothyroxine for 4 months now and have not lost any weight. If I could afford it I would move to 2 grains of Armour.

I do feel less puffy but I’m eating like a horse.

Not what you're looking for?
