Your TSH is far too high for someone on Levothyroxine

What was last result?

See in your other posts you may have recently quit smoking?

This can upset Thyroid levels, especially if you have Hashimoto's

verywellhealth.com/cigarett...

TSH should be around one, certainly under 2.

See GP for 25mcg dose increase in Levothyroxine

Bloods retested in 6 weeks

For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4, FT3 plus TPO and TG thyroid antibodies and also very important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12

Private tests are available. Thousands on here forced to do this as NHS often refuses to test FT3 or antibodies or vitamins

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Medichecks Thyroid plus ultra vitamin or Blue Horizon Thyroid plus eleven are the most popular choice. DIY finger prick test or option to pay extra for private blood draw. Both companies often have money off offers.

All thyroid tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and fasting. When on Levothyroxine, take last dose 24 hours prior to test, and take next dose straight after test. This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, GP will be unaware)

last TSH was 8.32 (july)

i have enough tablets that i can increase myself and the request it on repeat as dr did want me to increase last time but i tried and could cope with it so i might do 25mcg every other day

im on day two of no smoking but using a vape but have been on one a day for a couple of weeks

i cant afford private tests so screwed there but if im ever lucky enough to see Dr H i will ask him to do the tests

i always wait 24 hours with bloods

normally they are fasting bloods but the appointment was at 2.50 and my glucose was high because i had a roll not long before

Ask GP to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 then instead

ive asked fot vit d before and they wont do it, something tro do with lab not agreeing on a level range

but i can ask for ferritin, folate and b12

im suprised they dont do b12 all the time because metformin depletes it

Then you need to test vitamin D privately via NHS postal kit
