Thyroid function blood results.

Hi. I have most of the symptoms related to under active thyroid; weight gain, hair loss, fatigue, aching and restless legs, dry skin with lesions, numbness in fingers and toes.

I had blood tests done several months ago and was told they were borderline but no action needed. I have just had the test done again privately. These are the results: TSH 2.67, FT4 12.2, FT3 5.01

There were also a few other anomalies: Red cells HCT 0.453

Inflammation CRP 6.0

Liver Alkaline phosphatase 124

Alkaline transferase 39.6

Gamma GT 43

Proteins globulin 35.6

Iron TIBC 97.2

Cholesterol 6.59 LDL4.16 NonHDL 5.2 (Don’t understand why, my diet is quite good)

Folate 2.08

Vit D 43.2 (even though I take a supplement)

I would appreciate any help in interpreting these results and any advice.

My GP said my 5.96 TSH was normal. Don’t know where you live but some UK GPs are not good. Take care😊

Sorry, but we need the ranges for those results. Results without ranges are meaningless because they vary from lab to lab.

Have you had your antibodies tested? Where both your tests done at the same time of day?

Cholesterol has little to do with diet - despite what ignorant doctors tell you! Cholesterol is made in the liver. The more cholesterol you eat, the less the liver makes. The less cholesterol you eat the more the liver makes. But, the cholesterol you can eat is a mere drop in the ocean compared to the amount the liver makes.

High cholesterol is a hypo symptom. Low levels of T3 mean that the body cannot process cholesterol properly so it mounts up in the blood. That's all. High cholesterol is not a disease it's a symptom. However, your FT3 doesn't look low. But, as I said, you need your antibodies tested, because that can change everything.

No B12 or ferritin tests?

Your ferritin is very low. Should be more like 100. Your B12 is also on the low-side.

But still no antibody result. You need your antibodies tested, because it changes everything.

And you haven't given the ranges for your tests mentioned above.

All the tests done at the same time. Didn’t have the antibodies tested.
