Advice on NDT blood results please

Advice please, l have Hashimoto for many years have slowly changed over to Thyroid S fro Levothyroxine , l finally reached 1 1/2 grains

and the change has been quite remarkable had my bloods done Vit d is medicated and cortisone bloods ferriten ect were all checked and good before l changed over .

My results are

tsh 0.407

FreeThyroxine 10.9 the range is 12.00-22.00

Free t3 4.86

The comment was Freet4 was a little low but okay as free t3 was withing range

Do l need to increase slightly by 1/4 grain to up Free t4

Any advice would be welcomed thankyou

No, you need to increase NDT to up the FT3. It's probably still a bit low, although you haven't given the range...

Thankyou ,

range is (3.10-6-80 ) free t3 4.86

Will increase by 1/4,grain and check pulse ,many thanks for your help

Will take the 11/2 as usual first thing 6 am and take 1/4 late afternoon on empty stomach then after week take all together first thing find this works for me as l increase then don’t get that rush feeling even though

pulse and bp are good will wait another 4 weeks and have bloods done again thankyou

Hi Greygoose l have increased by 1/4 grain mid afternoon ,heart rate is faster up to 70 ,proir resting was 60/65 havent got tremors but very aware of heart beats ( hope that doent seem strange )

Bp is xcellant 114/71 should l alternate days for 1/4 increase until system gets used to increase ,would appreciate your help ,thankyou

No, you can't alternate doses with NDT, because it contains T3. The body needs a steady, continuous dose of T3.

I will perservere and see if ths ( can only describe as my heart beat jumping around settles down ,my body has been limping along for years on very poor converserion ,thankyou this is a learning curve for me and the benitit in alertness and energy l dont want to go back to feeling awful

Agree with greygoose, but only if you feel better with fT3 a little higher.

I take levothyroxine for an under active thyroid gland. It has just been reduced from 100 mg. to 75 mg. for next 6-8 weeks. I originally had an overactive thyroid gland but was given radioactive isotope which resulted in it going under active. While I was overactive, because of a problem I was given steroids for a very short time and 10 years later I was diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis and I had to have both my hip bones replaced. After my first hip replacement I was diagnosed with DVT in that leg and later learned from a report by Dr. Glueck (an American doctor) that anyone with an underlying blood clotting disorder should never be prescribed steroids.
