Yes, well, she would, because they're all in range. But you really should ask for the ranges - better still, ask for a print-out with the ranges, then you'll have a hard copy to keep.

Your B12 isn't too bad, but optimal is 1000. Folate looks ok. But I think the ferritin might be a tad low. :)

Donna. I am sorry. The nurse needs - erm - shooting? No, that would be unChristian. She needs RE Training Big Time. She doesn't understand the measurements she is pretending to give advice on.

A serum ferritin level of 8 is not normal! I can copy you across all kinds of quotes from very very highly qualified doctors.... including the World Health Organisation.

THAT result of serum ferritin 8 means your iron storage level is on the floor. Go to your chemist and get some ferrous fumerate, or Ferrochel, or biscylcinate - and take those iron tablets daily. If you have any problems with constipation these are the best. It will take a long time to get your iron levels up, but bit by bit you will do it and you will slowly begin to feel better.

This is good news because it is something simple you can do to help your health and your wellbeing.

Would you like me to look up some quotes for you and copy them in so you can be sure I am telling you the truth?

Donna, I am so, so sorry you have been so badly let down by our health system.

Oh thank you so much for looking I think my iron is 11 but don't understand serum level I really appreciate your time . Thanks again if you can send any reccomended products I would be grateful ... So much to learn but you're all great teachers :)

Just go to the best chemist in your High Street and ask if they have any of the kinds of iron I mentioned. Try to avoid ferrous sulphate pills if you have any tendency to constipation.
