hello again ,ok my bloods are back and my thyroid antibodies are :-

thyroglobulin antibody 559.000

thypold peroxidase antibody 282.8

all the rest ok need vitamin b12 and some vitamin d as I'm bordering

What you thinking ??? Got any help for me ??

Your antibodies are high so you are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease aka Hashimoto's which is where antibodies attack the thyroid and gradually destroy it.

To help reduce the antibodies you need to adopt a strict gluten free diet. Gluten contains gliadin which is a protein thought to trigger antibody attacks. Read about the gluten/thyroid connection here

Some people have also found that they need to be dairy free.

Supplementing with selenium L-selenomethionine 200mcg daily and keeping TSH suppressed also help reduce antibodies.

What are OK? Can you post the results with their reference ranges because OK might not be the same as optimal which is what we need.

Doctors don't know anything about nutrition because they're not taught it, so they usually have no clue when it comes to optimal levels and supplements.

Your B12 is quite a way under range. Anything under 500 can cause neurological problems.

Folate should be at least half way through it's range.

Check here for any signs and symptoms of B12 deficiency

Then take your B12 and folate results, together with any signs and symptoms you may have, over to the Pernicious Anaemia Society forum here on Health Unlocked for further advice

They may suggest you ask to be tested for Pernicious Anaemia, you may need B12 injections. See what they say then follow their advice.

DO NOT take any multivitamin as suggested by your doctor, they contain too little of anything to do any good and usually use the wrong and least bioavailable forms of ingredients.

Are you supplementing? If so you can cut back, you don't want to go any higher. Recommended level is half way through it's range, and for females 100-130 is better.

VIT D 62.18 50.00-200.00

Recommended level is 100-150nmol/L. The suggestion of 400-800iu is nonsense and won't help raise your level. I would buy some D3 softgels (such as Doctor's Best) and take 5000iu daily for 6 weeks then reduce to 5000iu alternate days or, depending on what strength you buy, maybe 2000iu daily as a maintenance dose once you reach the recommended level. You may need less in the summer. Retest once or twice a year whilst supplementing to stay within the recommended level and adjust dose accordingly.

When supplementing with D3 there are important cofactors needed which you can read about here

D3 aids absorption of calcium from food and K2-MK7 directs the calcium to bones and teeth where it is needed and away from arteries and soft tissues where it can be deposited and cause problems.

D3 and K2 are fat soluble so should be taken with the fattiest meal of the day, D3 four hours away from thyroid meds.

There are D3/K2 combo supplements which you might find more convenient.

Magnesium comes in different forms, check here to see which would suit you best and as it's calming it's best taken in the evening, four hours away from thyroid meds

Far too high. You already know this should be 1 or below in a treated hypo patient.

free thyroxine 14.25 12.00-22.00 This is FT4 (Free T4)

Far too low, should be in the upper third of range.

total thyroxine T4 91.2 59.00-154.00 - not really much use, the FT4 is a better indicator but it does show that it's less than half way through it's range so not really much T4 there.

FREE T3 4.35 3.10-6.80

Far too low, should be in the upper quarter.

As mentioned in replies to your previous posts, you need an increase in dose of Levo.

I presume you now have the Pulse Online Magazine article from Louise. Print it off and highlight question 6 to show your GP, which is where Dr Toft says about TSH can be low or suppressed and FT4 high in range or slightly over range, as long as FT3 stays within range.

You have Hashimotos Thyroditis so auto immune and very common. Lots of us have it.

I'd recommend going gluten and casein free (cows milk) it's a big change to start but once you get your head around it and all the alternatives you can pretty much eat as normal.

Gluten and Casein look like the thyroid to the body (molecular mimmickry) so when ingested and they get in to your bloodstream via leaky gut(intestinal permeability) the body sees an invader so sends T cells out to attack but then mistakenly also attacks the thyroid.

In a past post I've listed all the things that I find have helped me, may be worth a look.

Research leaky gut. Chris Kresser is good for this.

Izabella Wentz Hashimotos Protocol book is good she also has a website.

Dr Datis Khazzarian also has brilliant books also a website.

Dr Susan Blum md The Auto Immune Recovery Plan is good for diet info.

FYI B12 should be 600 plus under 500 will start to cause neurological changes.

Vit D around 60 no less

Your Dr will say ok at much lower levels as they don't want to supplement people as very costly!
