Hi Rosa, many of the tests are not optimal for the same reason our thyroid isn't optimal nor the adrenals either. It's hard to make up for what our body isn't doing for us. You already recognize the stress problem and should always try to improve that. Some people find that going gluten free removes one sort of stress. Your ferritin is very low and also your vitamin D. You should probably find a D3 plus K2 supplement and take a much higher dose than you are now. The K2 is because of the raise in calcium when taking D3. There are cautions on the desunin about that. There are many other D3 products that contain K2.
Along with our other problems, often hypothyroid people produce low acid and can't glean enough nutrients and minerals from our diet. You can use apple cider vinegar with meals or take a pill and also digestive enzymes. I would not take drugs for cholesterol or depression. In fact most drugs interfere with thyroid hormones.
Your CRP c-reactive protein is above range showing inflammation.
You could look into supplements but we need a holistic approach to this whole problem. This wonderful video will explain a lot which was posted yesterday by Pettals.
Positive thyroid peroxidase antibodies mean you have autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's) which has caused your hypothyroidism. Many members find a gluten-free diet helpful in reducing Hashi attacks and antibodies.
Your FT4 dropped a little and TSH rose in Nov which may be due to an autoimmune attack on your thyroid. Most people on thyroxine are comfortable with TSH just above or below 1.0 with FT4 near or in the top 75% of range >16.5. A dose increase would improve FT4 and reduce TSH and will probably lower cholesterol too. Most people on thyroxine are comfortable with TSH just above or below 1.0 with FT4 near or in the top 75% of range >16.5. Read the comments Dr. Toft, ex-president of the BTA, made about thyroid levels and dosing in Pulse Online in the link below. B12 is best towards the top of range. Supplementing 1,000mcg daily should do the trick. VitD you're working on and will be optimal around 100.
Ferritin is low. Optimal is half way through range. Supplement Ferrous Fumarate and take each iron tablet with 500mg-1,000mg vitamin C to aid absorption and mitigate constipation.
Good advice already given but from a personal point of view I would also recommend an increase in your a Levo. I am better with a suppressed TSH (0.2 at the moment). My vitamin D decreased on the Desunin so it didn't seem like I was absorbing it. I now have 3,200 Fultium - don't know if it has made a difference yet but it does seem different brands suit different people.
thank you all for your replies. It takes me some time to read and absorb the information and then to remember but I have learned so much in the last four weeks from this forum I can only say God Bless you all. Rosa
