Flare on the way ?
I'm on a slow taper of 0.5mg every 8 weeks which has been going well. I reduced to 3mg from 3.5 2 weeks ago and things have not felt quite right . I have had some pain at the base of my spine, not all the time and in some of my fingers and my wrists too . Over the last few days my shoulders have started

implant Surgery Tomorrow
The dental surgeon says to take 10 mg prednisolone in the morning before having the tooth extracted and implant put in. She knows I’m currently on 3-3.5 mg and has PMR long term. She says the extra is to help with the anxiety/stress and that as my body likely isn’t producing cortisol of its own this

Nerve pain after icd fitted.
I had icd fitted on 1st June this year following cardiac arrest. For two weeks afterwards I had intense nerve like pain in my left shoulder. Pain killers didn't work but after a couple of weeks the pain stopped but in past few weeks it has returned not with the intensity of before but enough to wake

Worried
Been having chest pain, shoulders pain and left arm pain. Also I have 5 blackout episodes yesterday . 3 of them I fell and bang my head. Went to A&E. They did ecg . Told I will have to wait 8 hours to be see by doctor. They didn't even do bloods. So left and went home . Didn't offer me any painkillers

pain killers?
I was prescribed Meberverine to take before meals. Doesn't seem to be working. I had a really bad stomach (and back) ache 2 days ago .. and feelings of nausea. I was totally laid up and exhausted .. for 2 days. Still feeling the after effects today. I seem to get stomach problems about twice a month

In so much pain and feeling poorly
Hi folks, Last Friday while squeazing the edge of the mattress into the corner of a fitted sheet I had an excruciating shooting pain across the middle of my back. After that I could barely do anything without serious pain. Ever since, I've been falling asleep all day, had nausea, bloating & painful

Burning sensation in esophagus
This is a random question. I recently took a painkiller (coated Nurophen) for a headache without water and suffered a burning sensation as a result in my esophgus. Not sure if this was because RA does have side effect of dry mouth sometimes or if my esophgus is now inflamed due to my RA but I’m continuing

surgery update: 5am, and after the clouds, the Sun!
hi all. Back! surgery went ahead, and my horrible tumour is now gone. It will be a while though before i dont need bandages, but….. It … is… gone! I managed to spend just one night in hospital, and shocked I think everyone by recovering from a pretty heavy anaesthetic in almost record time. Medical

Wish I hadn’t got Fibro diagnosis. Doctors won’t listen now
I’ve had back trouble since my early twenties. I’m in my 50s now. From time to time I put my back out. I usually get stronger painkillers for a week or so until my back rights itself. Now I have a fibromyalgia diagnosis doctor will not give me anything at all. I’m stuck in bed. Can’t move can’t sleep

Hi all I’m new here. I’m really struggling and don’t know what to do. I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago at the age of 28 due to severe endometriosis and multiple surgeries. PMR UPDATE
Just get you up to speed. I found that 15mg of pred was relieving pain I had been experiencing for a year. I did not believe it was PMR because it presented differently then the last time. The pain is not bilateral. But my inflamation marks have been high for a long time. The relief has been so amazing

Nausea wristbands?
Hi! Has anyone tried and had any luck with using those travel pressure points wristbands normally used for travel sickness? I often feel nauseous, usually for the first few hours of the day and have tried ginger, painkillers, sleep and eating with no luck! Thanks in advance

Any advice for pain for a broken shoulder
I will try not to offend anyone haha. Could anyone give me some advice for my husband? 3 weeks ago he had a nasty fall playing walking football he is 73 years old and very fit. He broke his shoulder, bruised his ribs and his arm turned black and blue. Since then he has been to orthopedics to check

40mg melatonin 1 night
Dad accidentally took 40mg of melatonin last night (4 pills, 10mg each). He thought they were pain killers. Ugh. He already has insomnia, severe sleep apnea, neck and back pain + nerve pain. Is 40mg of melatonin in one night life threatening????? Should I be concerned? He's moving. But complaining

Monocular Vision Pain
Good evening, I lost sight in my right eye from a freak accident in January. I'm having constant eye pain in the good eye, I have seen many consultants that have examined the eye and unable to identify anything that could be causing the pain. I use eye drops daily, eye gel and many pain killers
