First time writing, please forgive any mistakes I make I suffer terrible brain fog.
This may seem like a weird question but does anyone on here suffer a vibrating sensation throughout their body? The best way I can describe what I have is a vibrating sensation, I have spoken to GP several times she has no clue and just drops the subject. She asked if it felt like something crawling over my skin but it doesn’t. It literally feels like my body is vibrating from the inside towards the outside. Like it is doing lots of minuscule shakes or tremors very, fast constantly ie vibrating. It started a couple of years ago just in the underside of my feet and has now progressed over time to throughout my whole body. It isn’t there all the time, it comes and goes any time day or night. The vibration isn’t painful as such just very uncomfortable and annoying.
I have severe ME/CFS for over 20 years and was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia as well, during the last year when I saw a different Doctor to my usual one. I take nothing other than Paracetamol or Co Codamol for these. (have tried other painkillers in the past but get very bad side effects with them). I also have several other illnesses which are mainly controlled by medication. I do suffer seizures occasionally which are controlled by Tegretol (carbamazepine) but this is nothing likes those so don’t think it’s related to that.
I just wondered whether any one else has this and whether is is possibly a symptom of Fibromyalgia, if anyone does have it whether they have found anything which helps it.
Sorry for the long post.

Hu, it’s called inner body tremors, I don’t notice it anymore, until it stops, lots of us with fm, and without suffer this. I don’t know of any cure, but if you discuss it with your gp, I think there is something they can give you to ease it, sorry I can’t remember the name.
That describes the feeling exactly, so I just have to learn to habituate to it like I have done with Tinnitus. Thank you for your help, it’s a relief to know it is something many people get.
I have ME/CFS too and I had a relapse of myclonic jerks and tremor 3 years ago. I took 1000mcg B12 for two weeks and it seemed to go away (can't prove it was the B12). It's part of your ME/CFS.
Interesting that you mention B12. I have been having B12 injections for several years due to a deficiency. Approx 6 months ago I was changed to high dose B12 tablets instead and then approx 1 month ago my GP said to take them every other day instead of every day. Got a blood test to check my levels again in Dec. It is possible my B12 level is dropping too much on the reduced dose.
When you have Fibromyalgia some doctors look no further. I had undiagnosed and untreated diabetes for a year. Shakes and tremors were part of that. Take a urin sample for urinalysis next time you visit your doctor and see if that helps. Good luck.
I’ve had these internal tremors for a few years now. I have CFS and not yet diagnosed with Fibromyalgia although fairly certain I have FM as well. My acupuncturist said the internal tremors were extreme anxiety. GP didn’t know what it was but didn’t seem concerned as they only happened in the night and I was OK by morning.
I’ve learnt if I accept them rather then getting scared, they calm down, and sometimes I can even sleep through them. They do feel really weird in the night and it’s taken me a long time to learn to relax and accept them.
I have fibromyalgia and started getting the feeling you described in my feet about 6 months ago. As you say its not there all the time and doesn't hurt, just feels weird. I have so many pains with arthritis and nerve damage that I'm afraid if I get a new sensation that doesn't hurt I don't worry about it, I suppose I should really. If it is bothering you keep reminding your Dr when you see them, there may be something they can do and tell them you have heard it has happened to others too, there may be some record of the symptom somewhere.
Hi, YES, I have this as well, several times a day and night. Also feel like my brain is vibrating. Varying lengths of attacks but make me feel weak and unwell. Was referred to neurology and told that it was stress, the only stress I really have is fibromyalgia and pain related. Haven’t been offered anything to treat it though. Horrible feeling, sympathy for you.
hi, I have experienced this just as you describe and think it’s related to anxiety. At one point it felt like the vibrations were firing up my legs when I walked with each step I took. I did go on to be diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and have pernicious anemia with some tingling when my injection is due but the vibrating was different, very physical, like being stood on a vibration plate. At the time I didn’t think I had anxiety but apparently it’s like being stuck in fight or flight mode even though there is no obvious immediate danger. It took a while to recognise what it was as I was convinced that I had MS or some other condition. I hope you get to the bottom of what is causing it for yourself.
Hello, I would see a different doctor if she is dismissing this , blue52 is saying inner body tremors so you could mention this and like she says there maybe something you can take too help , take care x
Hi fibro friend yes I have this at this moment I am the middle of a fibro flare up also arthritis the fibro has kicked my IBS of to which when I went to the toilet it looked like a cow had been on the toilet you know what I mean and that vibration feeling I s horrible I can only take diazapam and oramorf medicine and paracetamol as I have many other illnesses so ordernary fibro medication has too many dangerous side effects so your not on your own sometimes I feel as if I am on my own until I get on this sight it's so helpful so try and keep well I know it's hard with this nasty fibro ect ect lots o f gentle fibro hugs 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗xx Tilly trots.
I believe you hv pinched nerve or nerves somewhere in back, which dr cant detect as they believe on machines and computers cant detect ,,, best is take sleep and medicine and give time to inhale , as back bone or upper back , back bone pinched nerve gives signal to brain and brain gives signals to whole body than you feel vibrating in many areas like mobile ringing in legs thaies, as i have been gone through with this , must note if you lifted some havey stuff or did work like differently than chance are high that nerves or nerve is pinched
Many thanks for all your replies and suggestions. They have really helped. Especially knowing there are other people who have the same problem. I don’t feel so alone. I have a routine blood test due in December so I’ll have another chat with my GP after that.
Hi Not sure what I get I'd call vibration it's more like shakiness/ shivering? I put it down to anxiety. I didn't have it before having fibro. For me, it's the stiffness and pain which bother me most. I don't take anything stronger than paracetamol or ibuprofen. I've had co-codamol for other things but don't like the effect and worry about codeine being addictive. .
Currently under investigation for heart ectopics ....PACs as well but not got FM
I started getting it last year and only at night....it would wake me up and felt like vibrating or very rapid muscle twitching near my diaphragm
Some nights it will wake me up a dozen times and gradually subsides if I move position or breathe deeply
Don't get it during day at all
I did think it was my pec minor muscle twitching at one time as it is often strained from a bad accident I had years ago. But reading this makes me think it might be related to stress, which I think us also main cause of PACs I get...
Be very interested to hear if any others have had diagnoses for this? My Doctor didn't have a clue and recommended I go to an osteopath
