I lost sight in my right eye from a freak accident in January.
I'm having constant eye pain in the good eye, I have seen many consultants that have examined the eye and unable to identify anything that could be causing the pain.
I use eye drops daily, eye gel and many pain killers with no success.
Is there anyone here that has suffered this at all?
Best Wishes,
Brandon.

I wonder if because you lost your eye and your other eye is having to compensate that you could be having phantom eye pain …. Like people who lose a limb feel pain in the good limb and have to go in for behavioral therapy or retrain the brain.
I’ve heard of this before and I did question it but apparently phantom eye pain isn’t a thing.
Someone did mention to me neuropathic pain and that I should try neuropathic pain medication.
The pain doesn’t feel phantom with that being said. It’s very sore. Even the globe is very sore to touch.
I’ve spoke to people that has had an injury or even lost an eye and they don’t seem to be having eye pain at all in their remaining eye, so it’s kind of baffling and frustrating.
I don’t think so, this has been going on since January. It did ease up for a small period but then it became very sore again.
One consultant did give me a weak steroid for the good eye as he could see some redness on the surface of the eye but it wasn’t anything to be worried about. But, the pain is still there. I’ve also been given 600mg anti inflammatory medication too, which doesn’t feel like it’s doing anything.
I have another appointment 01/11 so hopefully it’ll ease by then or they can find something.
I have a fear of going blind too, as the eye can develop something called Sympathetic Opthimalia.
With your ocular migraine, how do you manage them? Is there anything in particular you do that gives great relief?
Honestly I can’t manage my ocular migraine at all they are brutal and last days go away and get them all over again…. I suggest you apply an ice pack to your eye and also apply eye drops because a dry eye which can be watery or tearless can cause eyeball pain as strange as this sounds.
That’s unfortunate isn’t it. I hope you can find a way yourself.
I have eye drops every two hours. I’ve done the ice compress and an hot compress, I alternate between the two. Sometimes there relief but minimal and for a short period.
Yes, I definitely think you have something that isn’t going right with your good eye…. Sadly I have no solutions only suggestions and I hope the appointment you have in January yields some good results.
Oh my goodness… battery blew up in your face … wow, is it possible that your other eye actually got assaulted too but maybe not as severely to afflict damage that is readily visible?
That’s good news…. But what about the liquid inside the battery when it blew up…. Your the first person I have ever met that had a battery blow up on them.. thats crazy!
You’re not the first person to say this. It was a lead acid battery. Luckily, I only got acid on my hand and some on my trousers. The rest of it was all over the floor and the ceiling in the garage, it’s very baffling. There was very large plastic from the battery in the ceiling too.
