Hi all I’m new here. I’m really struggling and don’t know what to do. I had a hysterectomy 10 years ago at the age of 28 due to severe endometriosis and multiple surgeries. Over the last few years the pain has returned but after visiting GP all I get is the pain can’t be endometriosis because of the hysterectomy. I have had abdominal scan and was told everything ok. The pain is excruciating. I feel like I’m on my own and no one is willing to help me. It’s like they don’t believe me. Painkillers no longer work. My stomach is scarred and burnt due to constant hot water bottles. I don’t know what to do. In so much pain today I cant cope. My partner says go to an and e but I feel embarrassed to go because they make me feel im wasting their time. Any advice on what I should do next? Thanku

Have you had an abdominal and pelvic mri scan? This will only show deep infiltrating endo not superficial endo which does still cause a lot of pain. Have you still got a gynaecologist you can ask to be referred back to? I had to go private so I don’t know about the nhs side but if you are in pain you need to see a specialist xx
Did you have your ovaries removed or just your womb? Without removal of the ovaries it is common for endo to come back and even with that it is possible for it to come back or you might just have loads of pain from adhesions which can develop after surgery. Go for an MRI ,privately if your GP won't listen and that should show up what is going on. Going to A and E is a really bad idea you will awit for hours and there will not be anyone who knows about endo there. A and E use the new doctors so they get a wide experience of differenet cases but they don't have proper specialistsespecailly not endo gynaes. They will make you wait 12 hours then at best give you painkillers and send you home. You need to see a specialist endo gynae, the NHS waiting list seems to be 2 years so you will probably need to pay but at least you will find out what is going on. Good luck.
