Shower/bath
My plan is to dry the
wounds
with the hairdryer on a low setting, as suggested by the nurse and then redress them. Am I ok to use soap/shower gel etc? Seems a rediculous dilemma but i'm really not sure what to do! TIA X

Returning from breast cancer - advice needed
I graduated a few months ago and almost straight away found that I had breast cancer, as a result of which I had a mastectomy and DIEP reconstruction which means I have abdominal as well as chest
wounds
. I am now counting down the days until I can start running again (21 days from today).

I have been to see a Nurse Practitioner - but all she says is that the skin can get thinner with steroids and to just put a plaster over the
wounds
- if I do that my arm is going to be covered with plasters.

2 laparoscopies in a month!
Hi! Long time, no post! After some advice really. I had a second laparoscopy yesterday, it is my second one in 3 weeks! I'm obviously really suffering with pain, more pain than the first one. My belly button incision was left open this time and packed with gauze instead of being stitched because

Getting past this
Nearly a week on and I feel like a new me, no pain as such little bit around my right side, which was where I had most the pain, then got a little infection in one of my
wounds
. What I'm saying is trust your body.

A fairly substantial bleed and warfarin: my experience
2 days ago I tripped over something, or my own feet, at home. I wasn't knocked out, but saw some blood on my fingers. My Godson who lives at my house came running and asked where all the blood had come from, and there was a lot. Oddly my trousers were not torn but I had a major laceration to my leg

Diagnostic Laparoscopy
Does anyone know how long I need to keep the dressings on the
wounds
? The nurse advised when I left hospital to change them when they became loose, however they haven't and are still in place. I can see there is no infections or anything so is it best to leave them on?

I'd Love To Go Travelling To Far Away Places...
I'd love to travel the old Silk road into China...rattling along in a rickety train...tiny cabins to sleep in...stopping at stations on the way to buy a bowl of fragrant rice from a stall on the platform...drinking tea from the samovar at the end of each carriage and playing cards with silent Chinese

Life After Diagnosis.
After some time licking my
wounds
I started to think that if I was going to die then I should do something with my life before it was over. So the transformation began. I was in the local newsagent and saw a magazine with a CDRom on the cover with the headline “Build Your Own Web Site”.
