I've rubbed
voltaren
on my knees and back this morning, but as I work full time I struggle to take co-codamol because this knocks me out completely and has previously meant taking time off work - I'm waiting for the weekend to take them :-). Georgia X

Lesson learned
Completed 3 consolidating runs of 30 mins on Saturday, felt so chuffed. On Sunday day of rest off to gym bit of rowing , elliptical trainer, few weights about 50 mins all in. Ok did get a bit carried away So yesterday thought tackle first outside run , off I go with Laura and begin on week 5 run 1

Dispersible voltarol
Hi, my mum was diagnosed with RA at 17 and through many surgeries and personal strength has done so well over the years. But now is in too much pain and is getting very limited support. She can no longer take normal tablets and has to take dispersible ones. Shes been told she can no longer have the voltarol

New shoes but not for today
As per "the rules" I am posting a pic of my new shoes. Cost a fortune, half a wet suit! but getting birthday money soon to help:) However since the last run, after which my left foot & ankle were hurting, a friend has visited and walking round exhibitions and museums had me doing the MICE & Voltarol

At my wits end.
I have tried steroid injections, Ibuprofen,
voltaren
, and other anti- inflammatory medications. They take the edge off the pain but it never goes away. I have also visited a chiropractor, osteopath and physiotherapist. Nothing seems to help. Any suggestions as to how I can receive some relief?

Injured my lower back
I was brushing my dog yesterday, she's a Setter, so quite strong. She had a lot of matted fur that I couldn't do anything with, so I had to cut it out, which she hates. She kept pulling me around, and now my lower back is really painful. she was literally running away from me when I was trying to cut

Hydroxychloroquin has helped to reduce Steroids
Hydroxychloroquin or HCQ has worked very well as an alternative to Methrotroxate for me. It is not as toxic and has no real side effects. I was struggling to reduce from 60mg. I couldn't get below 20 without a flare up. It does take about 3 to 4 weeks to fully get into the system but I have now been

Ankles and Feet + medications/alternatives
I have read a few posts where people have bad issues with ankles and feet and I am one of those people, I was wondering what people are doing to relieve this situation, I started swimming, as recommended by rheumatologist, and had too stop because my ankles at the joint became very painful so I am not

Does anyone else suffer with pain at the base of the thumb? I have been getting this for the last few weeks, it's painful trying to grip anything with my left hand, as I am left-handed this is becoming a problem especially with washing up, (no dishwasher at the moment). Using Voltaren topical ointment for peripheral neuropathy
I've just discovered that
Voltaren
greatly reduces the problem. I simply spread a little on my toes and back of my feet.

Introduction from a newbie
Hi, thought it was about time to introduce myself. I’m a 62 year old male, I consider myself to be fit and healthy, having said that I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes in 2003. I was fortunate enough to control it by diet initially but it wasn’t long before I needed medication. I currently take Metformin

Dexascan
I was diagnosed with PMR in Sept 2015 and put on Prednisolone and Omeprazole, Calcium and Vit D, and AA. I am at last getting a Dexascan next week to see if I really need AA, I stopped taking it last Oct after reading comments on this forum. Also stopped taking Calcium as a blood test revealed high Calcium

I'm a newbie here
Hello all. I need a little advice and support, because I feel like I'm at the end of my tether. Just under three years ago I was given a diagnosis of PMR as I had awoken one morning with joint stiffness from head to toe. I responded very well to a high dose (30mg) of pred, but relapsed as soon as any

I take Ibuprophen, rub on
