Low wbc with Spleenomegally and aih, pbc along with scleroderma and Lupus
Often I have low wbc and require Granix to pick them up with the help of my hematologist. I take Ursodiol which does help with PBC. For the itching my doc recommends I take Cymbalta with Urso and Cholestyramine powder together and it works pretty well. The powder u need to take it 1 hour before meds

Anyone else?
Hello, Has anyone else out there been diagnosed with PBC and "unable" to take/tolerate URSO? I'm wondering about the rate of progression with the disease and not taking medication. Also, is it possible to have elavated PBC markers showing up in our blood work and the disease never actually manifesting

Anyone who attends Kngs College Hepatology.
After months of struggle I have finally been referred to KCH. This was no easy task and I almost gave up and had decided to just keep taking the Urso and get on with life. Then my sensible brain kicked in! The consultant in Leeds had told me that when I moved, I should make sure that I was referred

From Gastro to Hepatologist
I haven't been on in a while just so much going on. My 9 year old had to open heart surgery in November. She is doing great. My question is this...I went to see my Gastro this week to get results of another upper scope. He took several polyps and biopsies. He wants to send me to a Hepatologist because

Hello I'm new! Bit confused about ALP and imaging options..
Hi fellow PBCers I've recently found this forum and already I'm feeling more supported. I'm 60, and AMA (M2) was found in 2002 when I was treated for another auto-immune disease, but I was only alerted to the PBC significance in 2011 (naughty NHS!). Started Urso in 2012 when LFT's were slightly raised

Infections
Hi just wondered if anyone can help. Been diagnosed several years with PBC but managed with Urso and not experiencing any complications (as yet). However within the last 3 months I have been hospitalised twice, once with a severe kidney infection and once with norovirus which caused my blood pressure

New Year, Same Message
Hi Everyone, I want to post this information again, as it seems highly relevant to many of us. "The time from detection of AMA to development of PBC is about 6 years (range 1-19 years)[35]. Only about 10% of patients who are AMA seropositive, but lack clinical features of PBC, subsequently develop PBC

Hi there... im actually wondering what does happen if you stopped taking urso? I have done this. I can't say I feel worse.. Came up as secondary thought when talking to the doctor about meds. I haven't been back in a while. Might be a good idea to ask... Tris

PBC with overlapping autoimmune diseases
Hi - I was well until this summer when I was diagnosed with a symptomatic Celiac disease. Abnormal blood test confirmed by small bowel biopsy. Went gluten free and then developed debilitating polyarthritis - started on steroids. Elevated alk phos led to suspicions of PBC. Had liver biopsy last month
