Stages of PBC-Prognosis-Next Steps?
My wife has had Fibromyalgia, Sjogren's and Reynauds for about 12 years. Apparently she contracted these autoimmune conditions after undergoing routine rotator cuff surgery. In the last few weeks, she had blood work done in connection with a colonoscopy. Her gastroenterologist order a liver panel

Itch Relief
I just discovered this site today. I have PBC. I have many of the symptoms listed by others including itchy ears which I had no idea were part of the disease. I also have a skin disease which comes and goes. It is lichen planus and is very itchy so combined with the PBC itch it is very bad. I was

Questions for consultant
Hi everyone. I finally have a consultant appointment at Pinderfields and wondered what questions to ask seeing as it's almost 2 years since I have seen anyone other than my GP. I am AIH PBC overlap and recent bloods revealed that my AMA are raised despite taking urso. Just need some ideas thanks xx

Difficulty swallowing tablets
I’m finding it really hard to keep down the urso tablets. I take them with lots of water but they seem to be getting stuck and once the plastic coating is dissolved, the powder is coming back up and out of my mouth. Anyone have any suggestions to stop this?

PBC and work?
I am wondering how many of you who have pbc being controlled with urso to some extent still manage to work? I am a teacher and due to a flexible and supportive employer I am only at school 2 1/2 days a week now -but there is always work that needs to be done! It helps us financially of course for me

First post!
I was diagnosed with pbc about 4 years ago and have been on Urso ever since. Although having read posts from the pbc foundation before I don't recall ever becoming a member. I've still been working part time and most days try to have a 'normal life' while battling the fatigue-which is there every day

Newbie from Texas
Hi everyone. My name is Pamela and I have been dx as having autoimmune hepatitis/primary biliary cirrhosis in 2011 or so. I have had 3 biopsies, been put on Urso (1200mg a day) and have massive itching. I am at my wits end with this constant itching, lack of sleep and being exhausted all the time!

Hello. I thought I’d post results of my appointment with specialist. Blood tests. ALP- 245, bilirubin - 16. AST & ALt both marginally elevated. Fibroscan is 9.5 so no change there. I continue to have substantial pain in my right upper abdomen which comes and goes. My specialist is ordering a colonoscopy

I was diagnosed with fatty liver then PBC after a biopsy in 2013. I been on urso ever since & been getting ultrasounds every 6 months along with blood work. My blood work has been normal but ultrasounds since shows cirrhosis, PBC & fatty liver. My GI DR never told me I have cirrhosis and claimed liver

Diagnosis
I was diagnosed with very early stage PBC from a hepatologist. I had slightly elevated LFt's AMA M2 was 1:640. All other tests were normal. Fibroscan was 5.2. I have been on Urso for 2 months and I take my LFT again in mid May. Will I know if I am a responder from those tests?

Gallbladder-esque Symptoms
I was diagnosed either early stage,PBC about a year ago. On Urso plus take a number of supplements like turmeric, Vitamins D and K. Take tiny dose of Doxiepin nightly for itching and sleep. Among other meds for various ailments. ANYway, has anyone here experienced gallbladder problems along with PBC
