Hi everyone. My name is Pamela and I have been dx as having autoimmune hepatitis/primary biliary cirrhosis in 2011 or so. I have had 3 biopsies, been put on Urso (1200mg a day) and have massive itching. I am at my wits end with this constant itching, lack of sleep and being exhausted all the time! I have a drs appt in 3 weeks and hopefully can get something better for the itching. It is so bad i wish I could roll around in a cactus patch!

Pamela - where in Texas are you from? Are you aware of the 2018 PBC Conference being held in Houston May 17-19? It would be a great place for you to meet others. There are others attending that have both PBC and AIH and one of the speakers is on this topic. If interested go here

I only have PBC.

Pamela, your post is 3 months old. How are you doing? I come here to try and help my son. He has multiple conditions. Alpha 1 and PBC, and now maybe even cancer, an ulcer and a bad gallbladder. We are trying to get him on the transplant list. Wish you the best and would love to see an update.

I will send prayers your way. It’s hard as a parent to see their child go thru things like this. Regardless of how old they are. My 10 year old was diagnosed on 3/15/17 with Type 1 diabetes and sometimes I feel like I put my care on the back burner and tend to her more. But then I can’t really do that because she needs me and I can’t be sick. We live life day to day and take it in stride. I feel pretty good. Itching is minimal, tiredness...well, I’m a mom and a work a full time job...so i don’t blame it all on PBC...

Thank you, Pamela. We are facing a hard road in this family. From my research, PBC is a difficult condition. Is a transplant an option? I wonder since that is what we are looking at and PBC is one of my son's conditions.
